Savage Family Reunion 2017

Our family got back from a week long vacation that started out with the Savage Family Reunion. We flew out of Cody at 6:30 am Monday morning, had a couple hour layover in Salt Lake and then off to Los Angeles. Once we were in California, we got our luggage and caught a shuttle over to the Long Beach pier to embark on the Carnival Inspiration for our family reunion. Once we were one, we had some lunch and then explored around and found some of our extended family members. Carson had kind of a rough start to the cruise due to not keeping up on his Dramamine! Poor kid spent quite a bit of time in the bathrooms throwing up due to motion sickness. Lucky for him, we got it back under control and he was able to enjoy the rest of the cruise without feeling sick! That evening, we had some dinner in the anytime dinning hall. One thing the boys were super excited about was getting to try new foods while they were on the cruise. They were rock stars and tried all the weird things they could. The first night, they all (minus Carson who was sick) tried alligator and liked it.
Carson always tries locates the puke bag as soon as we get on a flight. When he couldn't find one, we asked the flight attendant for one and they brought us a monster plastic bag...one of the ones they use to pick up the trash while on the flight. It came in handy when we had wet swimsuits!

The boys were surprised at how small the rooms on the cruise were. We had a queen bed and then two bunks that you pulled down from the wall. Travis and Landon slept on those and Carson roomed with Grandpa and Grandma Foulger on one of their bunks. They did think their beds were pretty fun!

Exploring the ship

My Aunt Roberta, the one that planned the cruise, greeted each family with a nice little backpack full of fun little things. It was full of treats, sun screen, hand sanitizer, playing cards, water bottles, lanyards which were a lifesaver to have to put our drink cards in, and other things. It came in handy so many times.

We set sail around 5:30 and cruised towards Catalina Island in the night, which was actually only like 22 miles from where were took off.
