Arrow of Light Ceremony

Tonight, we had our monthly cub scout pack meeting where Carson received his arrow of light. He was pretty excited about it and super excited to move up to 11 year old scouts.
Pinning me after getting his webelos patch.

Carson's webelo leader, Mary Barret, was a huge help in him getting his award.

Carson's best friend, Jacob B., came to the ceremony to welcome him into 11 year old scouts. He's a great friend!

Good job buddy!
After the ceremony, we had a medieval knights carnival for the boys. We had several games for them to do. Tippy jousting was by far the favorite! The boys had a blast trying to knock each other off the round pedestals! We also had walk the moat, a bean bag toss, marbles and balloon sword making stations for the boys to do. The other big hit of the night was the cotton candy machine! There was a steady line all night. The boys and families got to have hot dogs, popcorn and veggies too! I think everyone had a really fun night!

Carson, the peer mediator

Carson was featured in the newspaper last week for being a peer mediator. At the end of last year, they had to fill out a questioner about becoming one and then go through an interview before they were chosen to be a peer mediator. He also had to go through some training right before school started so that they knew what to do in situations where a peer mediator might be needed. He has to wear his blue peer mediator shirt out to every recess so that they can be identified by their peers as someone that can help. I think he's only had to help in one situation and it involved a football game at school (they are pretty serious about their football!). I'm proud of him for trying something new and being involved. He is a great example of a peace-keeper and someone who is always kind to others!

We are thankful for...

For family home evening this year, we made a tree (I found the cute printable and leaves on pinterest) with all the things we were thankful for. It makes me realize how blessed I am to have the freedoms and things that I have. We are truly blessed!
I framed the picture and hung it on our wall. I laminated the picture and all the leaves so we can use it again year after year!

Pheasant hunt 2016

Christian just got back last night from a week long pheasant hunting trip out in South Dakota. This is the 4th year that he has gotten to go with this group and it proved to be just as exciting as the first time.

The cows are home!

Christian and the boys spent the weekend helping Grandpa Asay bring the cows home from Dry Head to their winter pasture. They left about 6:00 Saturday morning to trail them from on set of corral to another set closer home. It's about a 15 mile ride. It was a beautiful day:a little chilly in the morning, but warmed up nice in the afternoon!
Travis, Sam (one of Chrisitian's relatives) and Carson following behind the cows.

My Cowboys! Travis made me laugh when he was riding because the ear flaps on his hat would bounce up and down as he rode.

Everyone stopped for lunch around 1:30. We cooked up some yummy hamburgers and then they went on their way for the last little push into the corrals.
Having some lunch!
Chloe, Paige, Janelle, Landon, Stahle and Britt playing in the back of the truck.

They were done with cows around 3, so Christian decided to take the three boys out pheasant hunting on opening day. They walked down two strips and were able to scare up a bird in each place. They were pretty excited about getting to go hunting.

While they were hunting, I had gone to Powell for a girl's crafternoon at my mom's house. My cousin, Angela, came down from Worland to show us how to make Thanksgiving subway art. It was pretty time consuming and there was LOTS of glitter everywhere, but we made some pretty cute Thanksgiving décor! We had planned on it only taking a couple of hours, and had plans to come back to Lovell for dinner and play games after but, it actually took us closer to 4 hours! We hurried and ran over so the boys could see Butts, only to find them all asleep on the floor downstairs. They tried their hardest to stay up, but just couldn't do it after a long day! They did wake up enough to say hi but made their way to bed pretty quick. The rest of  us ate some goodies for our dinner and then said our goodbyes.

Halloween 2016

Well, another Halloween is in the books. We had a fun-filled and busy Halloween again this year. Landon had his Halloween party at preschool the week before. They got to dress up in their costumes and got to have yummy treats.

The day before Halloween was Sunday and for something to do, we decorated Halloween cookies to take to our family.

Halloween day started with helping Travis' class carve pumpkins. Landon went and played with Britt so I could help out. Each kid got their own pumpkin and got to pick how they wanted to carve them. I had a group of 4 kids that all worked by themselves really well! Travis carved a pretty darn good football all by himself!
We went home long enough to have some lunch and then went back to the school to watch the costume parade. They were going to hold it outdoors this year, but because of the wind, they moved it back into the gym on the stage.
Travis class.

Travis didn't break out any dance moves for us this year.

Carson as a mad scientist. I had dropped off a bag with the rest of his costume, but it didn't get given to him.

We did get a little dancing out of Carson.
After the costume parade, we visited both of the boys' classroom parties. Travis class played the dice game and then had some really fun treats.

Carson's class had races to see how many candy corns each team could get into a bucket using popsicle sticks in their mouths and then had a wiches brew (a candy mix).

As soon as school was done, we walked over to grandma Dorothy's house and trick or treated Grandma Asay. When we were done there, we headed home and got all ready.
 Landon: The ninja!

Travis: The football player (for like the 3rd year...I tell ya, those football pads and pants were a great investment!

Giving us a little dab!

Carson: The mad scientist
I wasn't really sure how this one was going to come together when we told me that's what he wanted to be, but I loved it!

Around 4:30, we headed to Cowley to visit Grandpa Monk, only to find that he wasn't home. We then made our way to pick up pizza for dinner and then over to the trunk or treat at the church. This year they had three wards participate and it turned out really well. The boys ended up with tons of candy!
Ready for the Trunk or treat.
After the trunk or treat, we headed to Powell where we visited Great grandpa and grandma Foulger, tried to see Jason and Cassie and then to grandpa and grandma Foulger's house. We ended up getting home after nine, making it hard for the boys to get up the next day.
