Water slides

Yesterday to keep cool, we ran to Byron where they put up some new water slides. When I got the text from a friend about it, I was expecting slip and slides. When we got there, they were blowing up these huge bounce house type water slides! They had two water slides (one for littler kids and one for big kids) along with a bounce house. They were experimenting for when they use them for their Byron Days celebration in July. The kids LOVED getting to play on them for the couple of hours that they had them inflated. It was a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon.
Carson and Stetson waiting for their turns on the slide.

Travy waiting patiently.

Travis going down the littler kids slide.

Splash!

Travis was doing a trick for me in the bounce house.

Kandace and Travis jumping.

It took Landon a while to want to do it, but once he did, we couldn't get him to stop!

Every time he would go down, he would stick his tongue out. I don't know if he was trying to get the water in his mouth, or what, but it was funny!

Finally!

Finally, after about 11 hours of work logged, the boys' new play set is all up and ready for some fun! Now, Travis can stop mentioning that we need to get the play set up during his business at family home evening each week! They played on it until about 9 last night and I'm sure there is more fun planned for today. They have sure been enjoying it all!
Having fun!

It wasn't long before Travis had the boxes that all the hardware came in up at the top and ready to slide down the slide in like a bobsled!

Loving the new play set!

Weekly update

Our summer is flying by...I can't believe it's the end of June already! Here is what we have been up to the last week:

Last Monday we helped Grandpa Asay move some cows. I didn't have my camera, but was able to take some pictures with my phone. It was so pretty out!
Carson and Jared helping push the cows through the gate.
Tuesday and Thursday, Carson had baseball games. Thursday was his last one (we are happy to have two nights a week freed up now). He had a great year and really learned and improved a lot. He had two great coaches this year that really helped him! He loved it and it was sure fun to watch him. He is already excited for next year!

Up to bat.

Rounding the bases on his triple!

Coming home with force!

Ready for action!

We had been planning all week to take the boat out Friday night because it was the only night we didn't have something going on. It ended up being really windy, so we didn't get to go out. We decided Saturday morning at about 9 that we were going to run out for a bit to see if everything was running good. It was only 63 degrees as we made our way out to the lake and actually kind of windy, but we did it anyways! We were able to find one pretty nice spot in the canyon where we were protected from the wind, the water was calm and the sun was shining on us. Carson was the only brave one and decided he wanted to tube. It was still fun to be out on the boat...even if we had goose bumps the majority of the time. After about an hour, we made our way back to the dock and went home.
First time out on the boat this year!
Fun times!
After playing in the morning, Grandpa and Grandma Foulger came over to help put together a play set the kids got for Christmas. It took us almost five hours to put together what we got done! Needless to say, the instructions were not great and none of the wood was labeled making for lots of headaches!
The beginning...we had no idea what we were in for!

The boys were great project supervisors!

Working away.
Christian finishing putting the last board on the roof. This completed our step one of the play set. Hopefully we will get the majority of the rest done this week!

Jason gets Married!

This last Thursday, we took off for Kentucky to see my youngest brother get married! How he is all of a sudden old enough to get married, I'm not sure! I can remember bribing him to let me kiss his soft little cheeks when he was still little! Wednesday night, we traveled up to Billings to stay the night before we flew out Thursday morning. Our flight left at 6:30 that morning...making for a really early morning for us. We flew to Salt Lake where we met up with my sister Megan and her husband Jabin and from there we made the three hour flight to the Northern Kentucky Airport. We were greeted at the car rental place by my parents who were picking up Megan and Jabin while we got our car. We hadn't eaten lunch so we decided we would try some famous chili dogs from Kentucky. We enjoyed our little chili dogs and then hurried back to our hotel to change and then we met up with Jason, Cassie and her family for the rehearsal dinner. After dinner, we grabbed some super good ice cream for dessert.
Here is me eating one of the famous chili dogs.
Here they are in all their cheesy glory!

Cassie and Jason before the dinner!

Our crew.
Friday was the day of the wedding, but the wedding wasn't until 7 that night. So, to fill our day, we started out by checking out Turfway Park, a horse race track right behind our hotel. Each morning, they exercise and work the race horses, so we thought it would be fun to watch them.
Watching the horses on the track.

Some of the trainers and their horses.
None of the horses went all out, but when they did run by it was cool to hear the thunder of their hooves! We wish we would have been able to see an actual race while we were there!
Our family (yes...in our pj's) at the track.

Auntie Butts doing her best to help keep the boys warm.
After watching the horses for a while, we decided to let the boys swim for a bit. They really wanted to the night before, but we were too tired to take them.

After swimming, and while my mom was getting her hair done, the rest of us went and walked around the mall for a bit. There was a two story carousel that the boys got to ride on.
Travis and I on the carousel.

A look at the whole carousel.

We stayed in the town of Florence and this was their water tower. I just thought what it said was funny!
After the mall, we grabbed 5 Guys burgers and fries for lunch and went to the park to eat and to let the kids play. The burgers were super delicious and the boys really enjoyed being able to get down and play! After lunch, we headed back for naps and to get ready for the wedding.
Enjoying some yummy lunch!

Landon LOVED the burgers too! He ate Christian's hamburger instead of his hot dog!
Jason and Cassie's wedding was held outside at the British Carriage House. It was BEAUTIFUL! Kentucky, itself was beautiful too! It was so green and there were trees everywhere! We quite liked it!
Our little family before the wedding.

Travis took a picture of the countryside while we were waiting for the ceremony to start.

Here are my Grandparents walking down as the ceremony was starting.

My parents!

Jason being escorted down.

Jason waiting for his bride!

Yay...they are married!

The bride and groom with my grandparents.

With the Foulger parentals!

Megan and I watching them take some pictures.

Landon had a great time playing peek-a-boo behind this tree while we waited to take some pictures.
After the ceremony and pictures, there was a reception with dinner. We had delicious bbq beed sandwiches, beans, macaroni and cheese (we had it a lot while we were in Kentucky and really liked it), cole slaw and fruit salad.
My mom and dad after they were introduced at the reception.
My aunt and uncle and one of their kids and her family came from Chicago to the wedding. It was fun to spend time with them while they were there.

Cutting the cake. They were very nice to each other and no one got messy!

Aw!
Their first dance together as husband and wife!
Mother/son dance!

My boys really enjoyed the cupcake frosting!

My mom and her sister, Arlene.

Smile!
Saturday, we had made plans with my aunt and her crew to head to the Cincinnati Zoo. The weather was perfect...cloudy, not hot, and not too humid! We did the "whole experience" and did the zoo, 4-D movie, train and carousel. They kids loved every minute of it!
The whole group waiting to get in.

My boys waiting to go in!

Carson and I before the 4-D movie started. It was just like watching a 3-D movie, but they sprayed  you with water and your seat moved and there were things under your seat that tickled your legs. It was really quite cool.
Landon's favorite was the elephant. He called every animal "tow" (cow).

Strolling on Dad's shoulders.

Jabin and the giraffes.

The two older boys really liked the cheetah. This female is supposedly the fastest recorded on on earth.

The white lion was cool too.

Here we are on the carousel...and Megan photo bombing our picture!

The guys handing out.

Carson thought touching this snake was so cool...I thought it was gross!

Here we are on the train. I think this was Landon's favorite part. He sat like such a big boy through the whole thing and lOVED all the animals.
Here he is checking out the ducks.
That night for dinner, we headed back to Cincinnati for dinner at the Montgomery Inn for some bbq. My uncle had been there previously for some work and said it was great food, and it was!
Landon was feeding his cow during dinner. I guess he thought it looked hungry.
We drove over the Ohio river to get there.
Headed back to Kentucky after dinner.
On the way home, the boys were asked twice if they wanted to come in with the pilots and see what they did. The first time we were getting off a flight, so Carson said no. The second time, we were getting on our last flight of the trip. They got to see all the lights and even got some pilot wings! They felt super special and loved it!
We had a very enjoyable time and were so glad that we got to be there to celebrate Jason and Cassie's special day!
