Scouts

Wednesday was Carson's first Blue and Gold Banquet for Boy Scouts. He was super excited to get his wolf badge! They had an Olympic theme for the evening and after a dinner of soups from around the world, each parent introduced their scout by talking about come of the Golden Characteristics. After awards and dinner they played some Olympic games and we helped pick up. Good job on your award, Carson!

Here I am telling about Carson's golden characteristics: a good example, and great helper, always smiling and happy, and never gives up!

Updates

We haven't been up to too many exciting things lately. It's been cold and snowy making it so we didn't want to venture out very often. Here are some of the things that have gone of recently.

Landon finally got to have his crib turned into a big boy bed. He has been doing great in it and hasn't fallen out or gotten out of it until he wakes up!
One Saturday, Christian went with a group of guys up to buffalo Bill reserviour to do some ice fishing. They left lovell at 6 am and didn't start catching anything until noon and didn't get home until 8 that evening. They were able to catch quite a few once the fish decided to start biting!

We have loved having the Olympics to watch nightly. My boys have especially loved it and are always performing what they have watched on tv that night. We have had snowboarders, ice skaters and bobsledders. They have been practicing their bobsledding lots and finally got to watch some last night and were so excited! I love their imaginations and watching them play together.

We had an olympic inspired dinner the night the Olympics started. Our pizza was supposed to look like the Olympic rings made out of olives, pepperonis, pineapple, green peppers and blue cheese. We also had torches made out of cheetohs and reeces butter cups as dessert. It was a fun little dinner and the boys really enjoyed it.
We had a great Valentine's day. Thursday, Kasi had us over to decorate cookies at her house. They were yummy and the kids had fun playing.

For Valentine's day, I sent Carson a balloon with candy to school and he was quite surprised to get it! I thought it would be a fun surprise for him. The two younger ones were supposed to get balloons sent to them at home, but we have yet to receive them... That night, grandpa and grandma Asay offered to watch the grandkids so we could go out. Christian and I ran to Powell and had some El Tap while the boys stayed at grandma's and had dinner and decorated cookies.
Here is the Valentine box Carson did (pretty much on his own, I might add). He said there were 4 other minion boxes in his class.

Grandma and grandpa Foulger were out of town for Valentine's day, but made sure to leave the boys each a bag full of Valentines. They loved the goodies and playdough with cookie cutters to make shapes with.

Towards the end of the week, the weather really warmed up and started to melt the snow that we have. Travis, Landon and I decided the snow was just perfect for making a snowman. We had a hard time getting all his parts to stay in the snow, but by today, all that is left of him is the base so it didn't really matter.
Travis had a Valentine party earlier in the day and came home with his plate of goodies from their treats so we used the grapes that he had left for the mouth.

Saturday, we spent our day at grandpa and grandma Asay's house. Matthew and Charlene were in town for the day so we hung out and visited with them.  They guys and kids went and tagged calves after lunch and later went out and shot guns. Carson was happy to get to use his again. That night, we had a fish fry with the fish that Christian caught the weekend before with all the family that was around.

Carson is always a nice brother and let Travis try out the gun.
In other news, yesterday at church they re did the ward boundaries in Lovell. The wards were getting to be pretty lopsided, so after a year of working on it, they were able to redraw the boundaries. We will be staying in Lovell 2nd ward, but will loose a bunch of our current ward members (including our whole bishopbric) because we were the largest ward, but will be gaining some new friends. Carson was super excited to hear that his friend Jared Mangus was now going to be in our ward. There have been lots of mixed feelings about the new changes, but I know it's how the Lord wants it to be and we will all be blessed by the changes.

Puerto Rico!

Christian and I got back from a 6 day trip to Puerto Rico. WinField, a company that Christian buys most of the Co-op's chemicals from, sent us there for their annual conference. We left our house at 4 am Wednesday morning and drove to Cody where we flew out. Originally, we were supposed to fly from Cody to Denver, Denver, to Philladelphia and then down to Puerto Rico. When we arrived in Denver, we saw that they had delayed our flight to Philly by an hour which would have only given us like 15 minutes to catch our flight to Puerto Rico. Luckily, we were flying with the WinField rep. out of Billings that Christian works with and he was able to talk to a travel agent and get us a different flight from Denver to Dallas and then on to Puerto Rico. We didn't arrive to our resort until close to midnight by the time we got everyone's luggage and drove to the resort that was located in Fajarado from San Juan. The next morning, we were actually up earlier than I thought we were going to be! We ate breakfast, got in our suits and headed to the beach for the day.
This was the view (to the left)from our balcony in our room.
Looking out to the right off the balcony.
One thing that was different from this resort compared to the other ones we have stayed at is that there was no beach outside of the resort. The resort itself, it build up on a hill. Each time we wanted to go to the beach, we had to take a glass elevator down to a little tram like thing and from there, we took a ferry to Palomino Island (that made trips over every half hour). It was quite the ordeal to go to the beach, so you didn't want to forget anything...like your little white cards that you got when we checked in that said you were staying at the resort...learned that lesson on our first try to go the beach!
This is the glass elevator we took to get to the tram. It was a beautiful ride!
These were the trams we rode down to catch the ferry. (This picture was actually taken on our way back to our room)
A picture of the resort from the ferry as we were headed to the island.

We soaked up lots of sun while we could that first day. We walked down the beach as far as we could one direction and found several shells for the boys and saw some little crabs. It started to cloud up around 2 and rained off and on for a while, so we just decided to head back to our room so we could get ready for the welcome dinner that night.

Friday, Christian had meetings most of the day. I slept in, had breakfast and then met up with four other ladies who's husbands were at the meetings for breakfast and then the beach. It started to get rainy around 3, so we headed back to the resort. Christian got done with his meetings about 4:30 that day. That night, WinField had a really nice dinner for everyone and brought in Country singer Brantley Glibert for a concert after dinner. He put on a pretty good concert. It was fun to be so close and to actually feel the music! I don't think the older generation agreed on him being a country singer because he actually sounds more like Rock.
There were iguanas all over. I only ever saw this guy at lunch. We saw another lizard of some type, but he was too fast to catch a picture of.
It's hard to see, but it poured on us. It didn't last long, but man there was a lot of rain in a short amount of time!
This was as the sun was going down. The sun rays were amazing!

We got brave and went up by the stage towards the end of the concert.

Saturday, the Billings rep. took us snorkeling. We rode on a catamaran to a different beach where we got to explore and have lunch. After lunch, we got back on our boat and headed to a reef area to snorkel. The snorkeling was ok, but definitely not the best we have been to. After about and hour of snorkeling, we headed back. That evening, we were invited to a private dinner with some of the "Big" guys from the company. We enjoyed a taco bar, delicious desserts, and free Brantley Gilber CD's and cigars(for those that wanted them).

The beach and water were amazing!!
Sunday, we laid low, slept in,did some souvenir shopping, and then went to the beach for the last time. That night, we had dinner at the resort and watched the super bowl in our room.
This was a beautiful spot where we waited for the trams.
Some of the locals' boats.

Toes in the sand...

We walked down the other side of the beach on Sunday. There were TONS of locals there with their boats. I thought it was interesting that they would come in their boats and then just sit in the water to hang out. There weren't very many of them actually on the beach, but they were having a good time in the water!

Getting ready to head back to the resort.
Our super bowl party dinner started with some supper yummy wings.
Sunday, we caught a bus ride to the airport at 9 and flew out at 12. We flew into Dallas and on to Denver. When we got to Denver, we were told that there was a 60% we could land in Cody. We got all loaded and they had to ask three people to stay behind so they could fill up with more fuel in case we had to head back to Denver. We ended up being able to land in Cody just before it started to get nasty. We woke up the next morning to a couple inches of snow and negative temperatures!
