Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have so many things to be thankful for! One of those things is our families, which we got to spend time with lots over the course of the holiday weekend. Thanksgiving day started out with Christian bird hunting with his brothers in the morning and the boys and I decorating our Christmas tree! We got a new one this year and love it!

The picture I took the day we actually decorated the tree got lost some how, so we took another one in our Sunday afternoon pj's. Landon was not about to smile for me either!
We had lunch at Grandpa and Grandma Asay's house where Michael and Emily and their family were too. The kids had so much fun seeing and playing with their cousins. They sure miss having them around to hand out with all the time! Later in the afternoon, we made our way over to Powell to have dinner with Granpa and Grandma Foulger. My sister had flown in Tuesday night for the holiday and her husband, Jabin flew in Thanksgiving evening right before dinner. Jason and Cassie were there also, making for lots of fun! We had dinner and dessert and hung out the rest of the evening.

Winter wonder land

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, we got a HUGE snow storm that I don't think people were prepared for. We knew there was supposed to be a chance of snow, but we weren't expecting to have a big, wet, heavy snow. It was beautiful and peaceful and so fun to watch come down. It snowed for pretty much two days straight! I went out and measured Wednesday before I headed out for the day and it measured 8 inches and was still snowing. Christian measured in another spot that day and said we had around 11 inches! What was even more crazy was that by Saturday, it was almost 60 degrees and melted all away! I'm a little sad that we didn't even have time to play in it because it would have been perfect for making snowmen!

Some of our icicles.
This was the cooler that was left outside. It was almost covered to the top!

Our winter wonderland!
Wednesday, Travis, Landon and I made a trip over to Powell to pick up Carson from Grandma Foulger's house. Tuesday afternoon, he got to go with Grandma Foulger to Billings to pick up Megan from the airport. She was flying in on the 11pm flight, so he got to go and do some birthday shopping since grandma Foulger will be out of town on his birthday and go out to eat at the place of his choice. He chose to eat at Texas Roadhouse...yum. His favorite part was going to the new Scheels store to bowl, do some pitching and walk around and check things out. He got two really cool under armor shirts (that he's really been wanting), and cool spy guy kit and a stocking cap. He spent the night at grandma's Tuesday night and Wednesday, we hung out with Butts and helped grandma get food ready for Thanksgiving. Grandma had some crafts for the boys to do while they were there and we were working on cooking. It has kind of become tradition for the boys to make place setting cards of some sort for Thanksgiving so they did that too.
Travis worked really hard on the place setting cards for everyone.
All our finished turkeys and owls for everyone.
They were so cute.
Butts helping the boys make some Christmas ornaments for the tree.
Wednesday night, All of my sister-in-laws (and soon to be sister-in-law), mother-in-law, grandma Dorothy and I went out to dinner at El Tap as kind of a bridal shower for Renee. We ate and then had her open gifts. It was fun to be together with just the ladies for an evening!

The holidays are here

This last week, I think we finally started the business of the holiday season.  We started by talking about the things we are thankful for for family home evening on Monday night. The boys were full of all sorts of ideas and did a really good job. We have SO many things to be thankful for!

A better look at what we are thankful for.
Wednesday night, Carson got his wolf badge in scouts. He worked really hard to get is and was super excited!
Travis was my photographer for the night.
Last Saturday was Lovell's holiday mingle in town. They had lots of things going on

Friday, the kindergarteners went to the nursing home to sing their Thanksgiving songs and poems to the residents there. The worked on making their indian attire (shirt, headband, and necklace) all week. In fact, Travis wasn't very healthy all week and I kept thinking he wasn't going to go to school, but he really didn't want to miss out on making all their cool things and reassured me he was feeling good.

Our little indian, Running Buffalo. When he came home and told me what his indian name was going to be one day, I thought he said rotting buffalo, and I couldn't believe he would pick that name. He clarified that his name was acutally running buffalo.

Saturday, was the town holiday mingle. There were lots of things going on down town all day, but we only went to see Santa and to make some holiday crafts at the fire station. Each of the boys told Santa they wanted new bikes and a few other things. That night, we were scheduled to host 3 couples at our house as part of a dinner club. Two of the couples ended up having to due to sickness. Since we had babysitting all lined up for our kids, we decided to just go out to the Branding Iron with one of the couples for dinner. It was a really enjoyable double date with friends.

Santa was really thurough this year in finding out what the kids wanted. He talked to each kid for quite a while...making the wait to see him kind of long!

Friday, the kindergarteners had their annual Thanksgiving feast for their lunch. Landon and I went and helped Travis' teacher get things ready and serve and then we got to enjoy lunch with them. They had been studying the indians and pilgrims in social studies.
Landon enjoying his lunch with Travis. He didn't want to leave the classroom because all the kids thought he was so cool and wanted to play with him.

Update from our week

Just a few things from the last week!

Last Saturday was my birthday and my sister flew in to celebrate with me! Megan came in on the 11:00 pm flight into Billings Friday night, so my mom and I went up early to do a little shopping and eat out and then pick her up. We stayed the night and then did some more shopping the next day. We laughed way too much and had fun being together! One of our stops was at the new gigantic Scheels that just opened. We, of course, had to take advantage of all the photo ops in the store while we were there!
This is how I found Travis Sunday afternoon when I came out of my bedroom  from changing out of my church clothes after a meeting: asleep on the floor with is wrestling head gear on. I guess he must have practiced hard while I was away!

We have had an awesome fall this year (like in the 60's most days), but it came to a brisk stop Sunday night! We woke up to negative temperatures Monday morning and it continued to get colder over the next few days. We woke up to -16 on Thursday morning and Friday morning we got some unexpected snow! We are certainly sad to see our fall go, but the boys have really enjoyed having fresh snow to play in!
Landon was so excited about the snow Friday morning that he had to go out and play in it!
That evening, the three boys went out to play together and Travis left us a nice snow angel on the deck.
Saturday morning, we woke up to a couple inches of snow and some sunshine, and immediately after we were done with breakfast, the boys bundled up and headed out to play.

Saturday afternoon when I got home from our ward Super Saturday, the boys were bundled up again and Christian was pulling them around behind the 4-wheeler! They had a blast!

These boys melt my heart!!
