Dry Head Adventures!

Yesterday, we got to help grandpa Asay move cows up to Dry Head for the summer. The guys left at 5:30 to get a head start. The rest of us jumped in Daniel's truck and our suburban and headed up. We dropped our car off at the corrals and grabbed the other truck to drive instead. One truck pulled the horse trailer and the other hauled the 4-wheelers. It was actually a pretty cool day and sprinkled rain on us a few times, but the boys were troopers and kept on trucking!
Because of so much moisture over the winter, spring and summer, we only had to take the cows to the lower pond area because there was actually enough water in the pond there to last the cows for a bit. It had been several years since they have been able to use that pasture. Once the cows were there, we built a nice fire and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch and visited. We were glad that's as far as we went because we had dark rain clouds chasing us all day and just as we loaded up to leave, it started to down pour. It made for some slick roads driving out but at least they weren't having to ride in it! We were home early afternoon and had good intentions of going to watch the fireworks out at the lake, but we weren't sure if it was going to continue to be nice weather or not so we wimped out and decided to rent a movie and go to bed early instead!

Family fun night!

This week has been Lovell's Days so there have been lots of activities going on each night. Thrusday night, we went and watched the Follies. Grandma and grandpa Asay went Wednesday night and then watched kids for anyone that wanted to go Thursday night. Carson and Travis love going to the Follies, so we left Landon with the grandparents and then went and watched the local talent.

Friday was family fun night. It sprinkled on and off all day, so I wasn't sure if it was still going to happen or not, but it did. I went and sold booth/food tickets for the first half and then Christian brought the boys over and met me at the park. We ate dinner first, since it was raining, and by the time we were done, the rain had stopped and we were able to play all the games. There were a bunch of new booths this year and the hit for my boys was the paintball gun station. They got to shoot 5 paintballs at targets for one ticket! They did it a couple of times. We had a pretty fun time as a family, but the fun kind of ended abruptly when Christian backed our suburban into a power pole and dented the bumper up! But, on a better note, the boys had a blast!!

Carson and Travis shooting the paintball guns at the targets. They probably would have been happy doing this the entire night!

Baseball Game!

Last night we were invited to attend a Billings Mustang baseball game. A company Christian buys chemical from had a big bbq for everyone and then gave us tickets for the game. It was really fun to watch some more professional baseball and the boys thought it was really cool. The weather was perfect...it wasn't blazing hot and it didn't rain, even though it looked like it was going to, and we had a whole row to ourselves so Landon could roam a little bit! I think we will have to try and go again next year!
BBQ dinner before the game!
Homer, the horse mascot for the Mustangs came over and said hi to the boys while we were eating. They sure liked getting to see him up close.

Swimming at grandma's

We have been checking things off our summer bucket list quickly this year! It's a good thing too because this summer is FLYING by! Yesterday, we spent the day hanging out with grandma Foulger. We went to story time in the morning where the boys were able to hand in their weekly sheet for the summer reading program. We've never participated in it before and the boys were super excited to get all the requirements done so that they could pick out a prize! They boys picked out fake animal fossils.

After story time, we drove to grandma's house. We had some lunch first and then swam in her pool for a couple of hours. The older boys love having a pool to themselves and being able to do jump tricks, lounge on the floaties with pop and play to their hearts content. Landon mostly wanted to float on the floatie with me and squirt his brothers. Towards the end, he got brave enough to "jump" into the pool and have Carson catch him.

When it started to cloud up and look like it was going to rain, we headed in for baths and naps so we could be rested to go see How to Train Your Dragons 2. The movie was really good and we ate lots of popcorn and between the three boys, drank 5 slushies! I'd say it was a good day!
Love this little guy and his hugs! They are the best!!
Carson attacking Travis. Travis was quite the girly screamer yesterday.

Travis' turn to show off a trick.
This kid loves to snorkel. I can't wait to take him somewhere he can actually see some cool thins!
Landon tried out the snorkel!

Landon was happy to stand at the edge of the pool and squirt his brothers as they played in the water.

Straight chilling!

Travis floated around on this "raft" with a couple of paddles, a bag full of "weapons" (water guns and balls), and a net.
Travis attempted to do a little cleaning for grandpa when we first got out there.
Three of the cutest boys I know!
After Landon would jump in to Carson, he would hold on for dear life like this and tell Carson not to let go!

Fishing!

Saturday evening after naps, we decided to make a quick trip out to Deaver Reservoir with Grandpa and Grandma Asay to try out some fishing. We picked up some Chinese food on our way and found a good spot to fish at. This was our first time fishing here, so we didn't know how it was going to go or what kind of an area there would be to fish at. It was actually a really great place for the kids to fish. There was a little bit of beach that was covered in craw fish bones that the boys had a hay day checking out, a fire pit (now we know that we can have a fire next time), and a picnic table. We ate our dinner and fished for a couple of hours...enduring swarms of may flies that were all over us and everything else! It was a fun/quick little trip and we look forward to going back!
