Lovell's Days

This last week had been full of activities and fun things for Lovell's Days. We definitely did as much as week could fit into our schedule! Monday, we enjoyed a concert and food truck at the high school practice field.
Tuesday, the boys had wrestling camp all day
Wednesday we attended the follies! It was fun to have them back this year after not having them last year with all the COVID craziness! Friday, we attended Christian's class reunion. His 20th reunion was supposed to be last year, but with COVID, they didn't have it. So, this year, they combined with the class of 2001 and held their reunions together. We had an adult only dinner Friday night. They served lunchroom chili and cinnamon rolls. They hired the actual lunch ladies from when they were in school to cook the meal and serve it! It was so fun! After dinner, there was a slide show and then they went and decorated their float for the parade. Nicole Hendershot and I decorated the All-Stars float while they did their class float.
Saturday started out with the parade. The forecast predicted rain most of the day, and it was spot on! The rain held off just until the parade started and then it poured! We were wet and chilly, but it was still a good parade. Christian rode on his class float and Travis and Landon rode on the Little League All-Stars float. Before the rain started...
Mikayla and I trying to stay dry!
After the parade Chrstian's class got together again for a family pot luck in the park. It was fun to visit with friends and catch up. Christian's grade has always been really close and are lots of fun. A lot of his close friends from high school live close and it's fun to get to see and associate with them often!
That night, we enjoyed the fireworks at the practice field. They were amazing and we had great seats with a bunch of our friends!
I am always grateful for those who put so much time into Lovell's Days each year. It is the week we look forward to every summer! We love all the activities and all the friends and family we get to see!

Dry Head

Today we helped grandpa Asay take his cows into Dry Head for the Summer. This year, Matthew was able to get a land lease on some pasture at the Meeker place, so we didn't have to take them in as far. This will hopefully allow them to stay a little longer in Dry Head. I had never been to the Meeker place and it is such a pretty area. I love all the red rock/soil and green vegetation! We enjoyed some sandwiches for lunch and explored around. There is a cabin back in and we walked back into it to check it out.
Our group (minus a couple who headed back early)

Landon's baseball

Landon played his first year of minors baseball this year and learned ALOT. It was a big step up from coach pitch, but he did so well. He improved in so many ways and really worked hard!! He played catcher and pitcher mostly and some short stop. Like, Travis, thye didn't have a tournament to end the season He wasn't sure he wanted to play this year, but I asked him to just try it this year and see how he liked it. He ended up loving it and it looking forward to next year!
Landon found out after one of his last games that he had made the All-Stars team and was so excited!! I wish I had recorded his reaction. His coach had told me previously that he had made it, but didn't tell him for a couple of weeks, so I was waiting and waiting for him to get the news. He was afraid he wasn't going to make it, but was so happy to find out that he had!
This is the face of a boy who just found out that he made the All-Stars team!

Travis baseball 2021

The little league season has finally ended for both boys. Travis was a part of the Dodgers team this year. He was coached by our neighbor, Greg Rael. He had a successful season! He played lots of catcher, pitcher and 3rd base. It's crazy to think that this is last year of baseball! Next year would bring legion and they play TONS of games...mostly on Sunday. We have always told him that when he was done with majors, he would be done playing. I'm sure he would like to go on to the next level, but he has never questioned us. This year was a little weird and we didn't end up having a tournament at the end of the season. Powell wasn't willing to particiapate in it with us this year, and Lovell only had 2 teams, so there was no tournament. It was kind of a bummer for the kids, but luckily, Travis was selected to play on the All-stars team and will get to play for about a month longer!
