Saturday, we helped Grandpa Asay take his cows into Dry Head to the their summer pasture. Carson, Travis and Christian got up early and headed out to grandpa's house to leave by 6:00. Landon and I left our house around 7 so we could fill up with gas, get ice and load stuff up. It was a pretty warm day for moving cows that hadn't been watered the day before, making for a long, hard day of moving cows. They ended up only taking the cows part of the was to the Ellis place and are planning to move them again on the 4th. The boys all took turns riding and walking behind the herd and were pretty wiped out by last night! All in all, it was a good day and the scenery was beautiful as usual!

I made candy mix for our annual trip in. It's kind of become a tradition that I bring it on one of the trips in to Dry Head and it's a tradition that I stole from my grandma. She used to always make and bring it when we branded calves at my uncle's house when we were younger. It's always a hit!

Landon loved getting to ride by himself!
|
I was the chauffer for the many kids that wanted to watch a movie during the day. Travis was taking a break from the sun because he had a pretty good headache.

Christian said that Landon did an awesome job on maneuvering Tonto the pony around. He was quite impressed with how confident he was getting on him!

Michael, Daniel, Landon and Christian. Getting the cows through Dead Man is always hard. The cows finally come to some water and don't want to move!
We had a nice little sandwich picnic once the cows were in their pasture and enjoyed a rest for a bit.
