The weather is finally starting to warm up after a really wet Spring and we have been taking advantage of it!
It was beautiful one Sunday afternoon, so we decided to go for a drive up to Barry's Landing. We first stopped at the teepee rings and walked the path through them. We drove a little farther and got out at the Ewing/Snell ranch and walked around the old homestead. After exploring there, we drove the rest of the way up to Barry's Landing. To our surprise, as we pulled off the highway, there was a momma bear with two cubs just off the road. We sat and watched them until momma bear got too nervous and took the cubs up higher on the hill. We drove to the dock area and passed a herd of Big Horn Sheep. On our way home, we passed several herds of wild horses along the way. We are so lucky to live in an area that we can drive for a half hour and see so many beautiful things!

Travis had his first baseball game this Monday. He's had practice every night and attended a clinic last weekend. He's really enjoying it and learning a lot (like how being one of the youngest kids on the team means you might not get to play as much as the 10 and 11 year olds...which is really good for him). We are looking forward to warm weather baseball games this weekend!
One of the fun things about Spring here is that we get to hunt for asparagus. We've gone our several times to our favorite spots and come home with several pounds of asparagus each time. The boys have a blast exploring where we are and are getting pretty good and finding our asparagus spots!

One of their favorite things to do is collect snake grass and de-segment it and spit the segments at each other.

Of course I would ruin the picture with closed eys, but man I love these boys!
The second graders got to travel to Cody on Tuesday this week and I was lucky enough to get to go with Travis and his class. I had a great little group to work with. They thought it was super fun to act out in front of the different displays.
On Thursday, Landon's preschool class got to come out to Grandpa Asay's farm for a tour. He had been looking forward to this day since his teachers asked if they could do a field trip there. He got to show them the chickens and collect eggs, lamb triplets, sheep, goats, horses (each kid even got to sit on good ol' Tonto), the cows and pigs. Christian was able to be there to help out and I was so grateful that he was and Landon loved that his dad got to come!

Our whole group! Before the kids left, I told them we had something for them. I told them that we had one rule for people who visit the Asay farm and that was that they had to eat a cow tail before they left. They were a little worried and one boy, in particular, was horrified. Little did they know that the cow tail I was talking about was a candy Cow tail (the ones that are caramel and have a frosting in the middle). They were much happier knowing it was candy and not a real cow tail!
