Fun day!

Today was fun day at the Elementary school and it was beautiful (a little windy but it was hot and the wind made it feel real nice). My sisters-in-law, Charlene, Emily and I were put in charge of the throwing events this year.  The theme this year was super heroes and we were assigned Captain America.  We made shirts the week before to wear together and we decided that since we had 30 minute intervals, we would set up 3 different throwing events and have the classes rotate through.

Our fist one was throwing Captain America's shields (Frisbees that we made look like his shield) at a target to try and hit the center star.

The second event we had was a javelin (pool noodles) throw through cut out shapes in a tarp. It ended up being a really windy day, so this was a pretty hard event for the kids.

Our third throwing event was to see how far each kid could throw Captain America's shield (a Frisbee made to look like his shield).

Landon came along and was a big helper. He fetched all the pool noodles for me when the kids threw them.
Our Captain America shirts. They were quite the hit and super easy to make. We bought cheap blue shirts from Wal-Mart, stenciled a star on with paint and then put red and white duct tape at the bottom to make the stripes!
It's fun to get to help and see all the kids, but I missed getting to go around and watch my own do the different events.

Travis' class.

After three hours of events, they had lunch and Landon and I got to eat with Travis.

After lunch, the kids walked back over to the school for a movie and popcorn...sounds like a FUN day to me!
