Rocket Launch

In fifth grade, the kids get to build model rockets in science. They learn about propulsion, drag and other things in this unit and then pick out, assemble a rocket and launch them off for the school to watch. They were originally supposed to launch them tomorrow, but because they were calling for wind and rain that day, they moved it up to today and it was a beautiful morning for it! One of their main goals in the launch is to catch their parachute that comes out. Carson's headed to the parking lot and he said it hit his fingers, but he wasn't able to catch it.
All ready with his rocket

Getting his rocket situated just right.

The whole school counts down from five and then the kids get to push the launch button.

And it's off!

Running out the gate and into the parking lot to try and catch the parachute.

On the outside of the clouds you can see the parachute.

Back after finding his parachute.
