Travis's Beach/boating Birthday bash!

Saturday, we celebrated Travis's 7th birthday (a few days early). We thought it would be fun to have a boating/beach party at the lake this year. Travis wanted to do it last year, but we were out of town for his birthday. Orginally, we were going to drive to a beach spot and hang out there for the day. This would have allowed us to beach it and boat all in the same area so that those that were on the beach would still be able to watch. Friday night, we went to check out the road to the beach area and found that it had been flooded. The other road we found to get there was pretty narrow and not the greatest road. So, we decided to go with plan B which was just to hang out at the picnic area at Horse Shoe Bend. We had beach and a picnic area, but it wasn't all together.

To start out, most of our group (my mom, me, baby Stahle, and the great grand parents all stayed back) headed out on our boat and my parent's boat for some skiing and tubing. I wasn't there to take pics, but I'm glad my sister-in-laws took some. After about an hour, they came back to dock and we had some lunch. We cooked some hot dogs and brats, had salads, watermelon and chips to eat.

After everyone was done with lunch, Travis blew out his candle and then opened some gifts. He got some really fun gifts!
The birthday boy!

Grandpa and grandma Asay got him a way cool cowboy hat (which he wanted really bad).

Great grandpa and grandma Foulger got him a cowboy shirt and some work gloves.
Grandpa and Grandma Foulger got him a bigger treasure box with some fun treasures inside.

All geared up for the beach.
After presents and cake, the kids each got a sand bucket and took them down to the beach to play in the sand. They built themselves a "hot tub" that they took turns sitting in.

Little Stahle was my friend while her mom went out on the boat the first time.

After playing on the beach for a while, they decided to head back out on the boats for a ride up the canyon. The wind had picked up so it wasn't nice enough for anything but a scenic ride. Travis didn't want to go out in the boat again, so my mom and I stayed back with him. We cleaned up our picnic area, played at the beach and opened and played with his new gifts. We had such a fun day at the lake...it was a perfect way to spend the day celebrating Travis!
