Adventures in Corn Sales

Last year, after the sweet corn season was over, Christian and I talked with his dad about having the boys sell some of the sweet corn that he grows as a way to make money for their missions and college. When the corn finally came on this year, we put the boys to work picking corn to sell. At first, we just listed it on facebook for people locally and they were able to sell quite a few dozen that way. Then, Grandpa Foulger contacted us and said that we should go sell it down in Greybull (where they recently bought another grocery store) in his parking lot and then what ever they didn't sell on their own, the store would buy from them and sell it in the store since they can't find anyone locally to sell them sweet corn. We decided to give it a try. So, Friday morning, the boys got up at 6:30 to go pick corn with Christian. We got to Greybull around 1:30 and were totally sold out by 4! We had no idea it would turn out as well as it did (and we didn't even make it to the after work rush)! They sold around 40 dozen ears of corn and they could have easily sold lots more!! A few days later, the boys helped pick 517 more ears of corn and took them down to the grocery store in Greybull and sold our whole load to them so they had some local corn to sell in the store. We are so lucky to have such awesome grandpas (one willing to grow the corn and give it to the boys, and one willing to buy it and provide a great location to sell it) that are willing to support our boys!

Carson found a baby corn and thought it was super funny to pretend to eat it.

  1. This is so awesome! They really do have the best grandpas! And definitely the cutest corn salesmen I have ever seen!
