Now that August is here, we are trying to savor every last day we have left of Summer. We have been enjoying:
Boating. My sister was here over the weekend and we all piled in my parent's boat for an awesome day at the lake! My dad, Megan, Travis and I all skied. Megan and I doubled slalomed, which was way fun! Carson and Landon tubed their little hearts out. We enjoyed the sunshine, laughing and playing in the water. We ended the day with dinner at grandpa and grandma's house with Jason and Cassie.
We were pretty awesome!

Travis is still trying to master getting up on his own. He has a hard time keeping his skies up in front of him for very long. After a couple of tries, Christian got in the water and helped him get straightened out so he could get up.

| Love him and his toothless smile! |
 |
| When we circled back for Christian after Travis skied, he was doing to dead man's float and enjoying the sunshine. |
Carson enjoyed some time out in the water...away from his brothers so he wouldn't get his head splashed. He got to tube again and was happy to do that. Hopefully next time we go out, he will have the go ahead from his doctor to get his head wet!
We have been trying to get Landon to like the water more and we made some big strides on this outing. In the past, he hasn't really wanted to get in the water, unless mom or dad were holding on to him. He was quite happy to just have us hold onto his hands and dip his bottom half in the water. This time, he played in the tube by himself and then later in the day, would go in the water by himself as long as he had the tube rope to hold onto!

| Landon was even proud of himself! |

| Love this kid! |

Christian got up again on slalom and rocked it! He lost control on his first time up of the day and had and epic wipe out/roll/enema!

| Love these ladies! |
The boys played on the slip and slide one afternoon for quite a while. We decided to saran wrap Carson's bandage so that he could participate with his brothers. The got pretty creative in how they slid as they afternoon went on.
On Monday, we moved grandpa Asay's cows from the pond to where they will stay for the remainder of the summer. We left around 10:30 and met up with Snells at the pond. We rounded the cows up and then trialed them. It went pretty fast since we had 3 4-wheelers, a gator and 2 on horses. Grandpa Asay and Matthew caught up with us shortly after we pushed the cows through the gate. We rode back to their truck and had some sandwiches and then headed home.
 |
| Landon rode with me most of the time. We borrowed grandpa Foulger's 4-wheeler to ride. |
 |
| Carson rode in the gator with Ray Snell for a good portion of the time. When he wasn't riding with him, he was driving it while Ray drove his truck with a trailer attached. Carson was pretty excited that they trusted him to drive it. He only got it high-centered once. |
 |
| Travis rode with Christian when Christian wasn't having to drive crazy. He even got to drive the 4-wheeler for quite a while while we were driving behind the cows on the road. |
 |
| Stopping for a drink. |
When Grandpa and Matthew caught up to us, Grandpa took Landon on a ride so he could get his horse fix. Grandpa Asay led Travis back to the horse trailer where we had some sandwiches for lunch.
On our way back home, we made a stop at some teepee rings. We checked out all the rings and looked for arrowheads. We didn't find any but found lots of chips from them.

Looks like a great weekend. We sure did miss having you come here though! Tell Carson to keep sunblock on that scar or the sun will "tan" it and the scar will be more visible.
ReplyDeleteJabin would second Staci's comment! You can tell where Jabin's life jacket covers his scar and where it doesn't. Boating was so much fun! Nothing beats a day on the lake!
