Today was our first day of school. I'm always not ready for the boys to go back to school, but this year, for whatever reason, I have really dreaded this day and not been ready to let my boys go. I love having them at home and spending time with them! But, I guess they need to go. :) Carson is in the 4th grade this year and has Mrs. Winland. He has his best friend Jacob B. in his class along with another good friend Parker A. 4th grade is a big year that includes LOTS of big projects. Travis is in 1st grade this year and got Mrs. Morrison for his teacher. We are super excited that he got her!
Travis was up around 6:30...20 minutes before he had to be up and he sat by the front window waiting anxiously for the bus to arrive! This year, they decided that they just wanted to ride the bus on the first day so they could find their friends right away.

After school, we had our annual first day of school neighborhood party. We only had 11 kids this year. I guess our neighborhood is growing up! The kids enjoyed cinnamon rolls, cookies, watermelon, deviled eggs, meat and cheese and crackers and drinks. I love this tradition and the kids always look forward to it every year! It was fun to hear all about their first day. Travis had the most to say about it. Carson was busy building a veggie boat for our cub scout raingutter regatta and working on homework. I hope to hear more about it towmorrow.
