Picnic in Dry Head

Wednesday night, we decided to take a last minute trip up into Dry Head to check on the water level of the pond and to check on the cows. We left a little after six and arrived to our destination about  an hour later to find one of our tires was going flat! Not a great start to the adventure, but Christian was able to get it changed pretty quickly! .

Our puncture wound! *UPDATE: I took the tire in to get fixed only to find that it was toast, so now we are scheduled to get new tires put on Monday morning!

Once that was taken care of, we ate our picnic dinner and walked around.
Landon and Carson eating their dinner. They weren't too impressed when they found out we were having sandwiches for dinner.
Oh Landon...we love you and all your personality!
Some of the cows.
Christian was making fun of me for taking pictures of the weeds, but I thought they were really pretty!
While we were down at the pond, we noticed that there was some sort of animal in the water. We could see them barely surface so we decided to try and catch one and see what they were. Christian was able to throw one of the pond and we found that they are not fully developed salamanders!
Trying to feel around for one...

our little salamander!
The boys thought it was really cool and really wanted to take it home.

The boys were so excited to try and catch some more, but those little salamanders were too fast for us. They decided next time we come up, we are bringing our bug net so that they can catch some more!
Travis and Landon learning how dad "caught" his salamander.

Our family selfie! I love being out numbered by these cute guys!!
We took off once we made a trip around the pond trying to catch more salamanders. It was a fun evening and it looks like the cows will get to stay another week at the pond before they have to be moved up the mountain.
