Oahu!
Christian and I just got back from a week long vacation to Oahu. It was the first time since covid hit 2 years ago that we have traveled and we were SO ready to be able to travel again! Hawaii has some pretty strict COVID rules in order to get to the islands. We had to register on a state webiste the week before we left and had to upload our COVID vaccine cards or a negative COVID test results. A couple of days before we left, we received a QR code that had to be scanned at the airport before we boarded the plane in Salt Lake to fly to Oahu that showed we had our vaccine or negative test. Once in Hawaii, we had to wear masks in all buildings and had to show our i.d.'s and vaccine cards or negative test results in order to eat at any restaurant and go to many places. It was annoying and made me super grateful to live where we live! Despite the annoying COVID stuff, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed soaking up all the sunshine we could! The boys stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Asay and were well taken care of while we were away.
All our luggage for the boys for all week (and all their activities) and our luggage for the trip. Packing is always very stressful!!
We went up to Billings the night before our flight left because we flew out at 5:45 Wednesday morning. From Billings, we flew to Salt Lake and from Salt Lake all the way to Oahu (and we had to wear a mask during all flights).
We arrived late in the afternoon to our resort and by the time we got checked in and found our rooms, it was evening time. We decided to just check out the resort and grab some dinner.
The view from our room.
A look out at our resort at sunset. We stayed at the Disney Aulani Resort.
Thursday, we decided to just stick around the resort and enjoy the beach. We went and had breakfast at a little restaurant, Eggs and Things, in a shopping area not far from our resort. They had amazing breakfasts (and the birds liked the leftovers) and we had to wait in line for a bit to get in!
After breakfast, we went back and got in suits and headed to the beach. The resort had a great beach!
We spent part of our time at the beach exploring the grounds.
That evening we had dinner together and played cards.
