Lately!

Here are a few things that we have been up to lately:

I have always cut all the boys' hair. It's nice because we can just decide to do it whenever we need to, as often as we want to. Travis has always been really particular about how his hair it and I've always been able to do it, but it was getting to the point that was beyond my abilities, so for the first time in our family, we went to the barber to get it trimmed up. It looks so much better now that it's been trimmed! No more mop head for Travis.

Last Friday after school. I took the boys over to My Studio where they each picked out an ornament to paint. We are anxiously waiting for them to call us and tell us they have been fired and are ready to be picked up. They always change so much after they are fired.

Waiting...the other boys picked a little bit more intricate pieces to paint.
Their finished products. The santa ornament is one that Carson made in art this year.

Christian and the boys have been pheasant hunting as much as they can on the weekends. Last weekend, they went with some friends and while they were walked they discovered a bunch of fish in one spot in the canal. So, later that day, we put out Travis's minnow trap to see if we could catch anything. The next day, we went back and checked it. It had a few pretty good sized minnows and they were able to catch a nice sucker fish with the net.

The sucker fish they caught with the net. There were bigger ones they tried to catch, but couldn't.
Christian and Carson went and pheasant hunted with our neighbor and friend Greg Rael and and his son (who is Travis' friend, but Travis was sick). They started out in Cowley where Greg's dad raises birds and they were able to shoot 3 roosters and 2 Huns. Christian cooked them up for dinner that night. Carson said that was the best hunting trip so far because there were so many birds. They went out to the farm to hunt after that and didn't even see a bird.

Someone has been doing the 12 days of Christmas to our family and it's been so fun! They boys keep trying to catch whoever it is, but have been unsuccessful. So far, we have gotten pop and cups, salsa and chips, a Christmas sign, santa hats, paper plates and wrapping paper.

Grandma Foulger came over one day last week and we spent the day baking Christmas candy. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. I was worried it wasn't going to happen this year because we have been so busy, but I'm glad we got it figured out so that we could. Carson asks every year when the big baking day is. I'm glad they love this tradition as much as I do. They are busy from the time they get home after school delivering the plates of goodies around for us. This year, we made and delivered 20 plates to our neighbors, our ministering families and family. We always end up giving out something else to our friends because we end up running out!
Getting ready to get our baking on!

There are a group of ladies that get together ever so often and hang out. Instead of doing gifts for each other this year, we decided to have a girls night out. We went to Cody and started with pedicures, then had dinner at a Mexican place, made a trip to Wal-Mart and then on our way home we stopped at McDonalds in Powell for dessert and to talk. It was fun to spend time with friends and talk and laugh.

The elementary school collected canned goods for quite a few weeks and the student council counted every week to see which grade was in the lead. The grade with the most got a pizza party. The 5th grade usually wins, but this year, the 4th graders had the most. Travis was pretty excited that their grade won. He really enjoyed getting to count the can each time and see who had the most!
