Carson's birthday celebrations

On his actual birthday, we did get to celebrate a bit. Because our ward party was that night, we did it all in the morning before school. He got pancakes and opened gifts during breakfast.

The night before his birthday, Landon and I went to the school and decorated his locker and left him some treats to have during the day of his birthday. It was a fun surprise for him. A couple of his friends added streamers to the outside of his locker too.

As is our tradition, I picked him up from school and we had lunch together. He requested street tacos from Maverick, so I picked them up, grabbed him and we ate them at home. That also gave him a chance to mess around with his new airsoft rifle he got that morning.

Friday night we celebrated Carson's birthday with a party at the church gym with his friends. Five of his friends were able to come and they played basketball, ultimate capture the flag, football and some minute to win it games.

We had pizza, chips and pop for dinner and death by chocolate (Carson's favorite!) for dessert.

Travis, Jacob, Weston, Carson, Adnon, Parker, Manning and Landon. I think Travis and Landon were the most excited that Carson was having a party!
The first minute to win it game they played was to see who could pull the Kleenex out of the box the fastest. One team cheated...but it was funny to watch Travis.

The second game, they had to bounce pencils into cups. The team with the most at the end of 1 minute won. This one was really hard for the boys to do. The winning team was only able to get 2 in.

Game three was to see who could get the most rings on the reindeer antlers in one minute. Carson's team won.

The booty shake was the next game. They had to shake as many ping pong balls out of a box as they could in 1 minute. This one was so funny to watch!

Next was kind of a relay. Each person on the team had a can of pop that they had to balance on the side. They could drink as mush as they needed to out of the can to get it to balance. Once they were done, the next person on the team got to go until everyone got theirs balanced.

Jacob and Travis did the bobble head game. Here they had a pedometer on their head (held on with a headband) and they had to see who could get to 200 steps first by bobbing their head. This game didn't work very well...the pedometers weren't registering their "steps" but it was funny to watch.

Their last game was egg roulette. I hard boiled 7 eggs and left one raw. Each boy picked one out and on the count of 3 had to smash their egg on their head to find out who had the raw egg. Parker ended up being the "lucky" one.

After the minute to win it games, we sang to Carson and he opened gifts. He got lots of treats and money...just what every boy wants!!

Carson's nickname is "Stacey" so when they sang to him that the name they used, which got a big smile out of him!

The boys played until their parents came and picked them up. Carson said he had a great time. I'm so glad that he has such nice friends that are good kids!
