May!

Oh, May, why do you have to go by so quickly?! The end of school is coming soon and May is keeping us busy! Here are a few things we've been up to.

We attended the annual Elementary Art show. The boys are always excited to show us their work. Landon informed me that he picked hos two worst pieces to display...not really sure what that's all about but I thought they looked pretty good.

Baseball is in full swing. Travis has practice every night during the week and has had two games so far. His first game he was catcher the entire game and did a good job.
Playing catcher.
His second game he was pitcher, 3rd base and he pitched for the first time ever! Talk about make a mom nervous. He actually did really well for his first time and only allowed 1 run of the 6 that they had against them (they had 3 different pitchers). His coach gave him the game ball that night for his hard work.
Pitching.
Game ball!

Carson finished up his first track season by attending conference in Thermopolis. It was another beautiful day for track. He ended up throwing over 19 feet for a PR in the shot. His throw the week before was better in the discuss. He also ran a leg in the 4x100 (their team took 5th) and in the 4x200. They would have taken 3rd in that relay but one of the handoff's didn't take place within the zone, so they ended up getting disqualified. But they ran it really well. I have been so impressed with how he has improved each track meet. He really enjoyed it and said he's planning on doing it next year!

We finally got to get out and pick some asparagus. Christian had been checking a couple of our favorite spots, and we finally were able to get some cut. We hit two spots and made a haul! We took it all home and decided to weigh it to see how much we had picked and we had 7 pounds! It's been so yummy to eat!

The 3rd graders got to make kites and fly them one day. I couldn't go watch, but luckily, I have friends and grandma Asay, to take some pictures for me!

Travis got to go on a hike with his cub scout pack and loved every minute of the hike and getting to explore! He has great leaders that do an awesome job of making scouts fun!

The young men and women had a combined activity out at slide rock to commemorate the restoration of the priesthood. We listened to a few speakers, ate sloppy joes, and then the kids had a blast sliding and exploring. My other boys really wanted to because they have never been there, so hopefully we can get out there as a family some time this summer (hopefully before the bugs get any worse and the rattlesnakes come out)!
