Fun Day!

Yesterday was the elementary school fun day. We woke up to rain, so things had to be changed to the high school gym instead of outside. It ended up turning out really well for plan B, and it didn't feel super crowded like I though it might! Charlene, Kasi and I were asked to be in charge of roping and racing events. We came up with a barrel racing event, pole bending, and calf roping. I was in charge of the barrel racing.
Travis with his friend Jett H. waiting for Mrs. Martineau (the principal) to kiss a goat because their school me their reading goal. Travis wore his bandana like a bib the whole day. No matter how many times I told him he looked like a goober and should change it, he wouldn't. He kept telling me he was wearing it this way because he was waiting for this steak and didn't want to get any of it on his shirt. Crazy kid!
Dress a Cowboy Relay: They had to get dressed and run down and "rope" a calf (throw a hula hoop over the calf dummy)
The kindergarteners didn't get dressed up for their relay, but still had to rope the calf

Each grade was given a colored bandana to wear (the theme this year was Wild Wild West). Kindergarteners were yellow and the 3rd graders were red.

Barrel Racing

Pole bending. Every picture I have of Travis, his tongue was sticking out...it's a total Foulger concentration thing!

The kids also got to swim for an hour, learned a line dance, did an obstacle course, watched a movie, and got to have a hoe down to finish out the rest of their fun day.
