So, after a failed attempt last weekend to find some petroglyphs, we did a little research during the week and decided to try a different area. We drove down a dirt road forever and we were both a little unsure if we were actually going the right way, but when we came to the end of the road, we found a sign that said Petroglyph Canyon and a whole bunch of info about it! We ate a quick picnic lunch first and then found the trail that took us down into a ravine and started our search for petroglyphs. We found the first set only .1 miles from our car! We walked for almost a mile and found several sets of petroglyphs along our way. It is pretty amazing to think we were in same area that Indians had been in many years ago.

The boys had lots of fun exploring inside all the rock formations.
We walked until we came to the point that we stopped last weekend. We were only a matter of a few hundred yards away from the signs that had been placed explaining the petroglyph site etiquette. We were SO stinking close last weekend and we didn't even know it (but at least we were in the right ravine because there are several in the same area)!

So cool! Crazy that they have lasted for so many years. Glad you were able to make it this time!
