Adventures

I love this time of year when it's starting to warm up outside and we can get outdoors more. We decided the weekend that we would try and find some petroglyphs north of Cowley that Christian had been to when he was younger. We weren't quit sure where we were going, which resulted in us not finding the petroglyphs we were looking for. We did, however, have an enjoyable day together and found lots of other fun treasures on our way. When we got back to our car, we started looking at google maps to see where we had gone and where we thought the petroglyphs must have been , we discovered that there is a road that should take us pretty much up to the petroglyphs. I think we're going to try and find them again this weekend if the weather is nice.
Heading out on our adventure. The boys were excited to get to take their hiking backpacks with us.

We walked in a ravine where water has been. The erosion in the rock waterbeds were really interesting.
We stopped at one spot and the boys were able to find several fossils. It's so neat to be able to dig around and find fossilized squid heads and what we call devil's toenails.
Travis and one of his squid heads.

Landon's devil's toenail.

Carson found what we think is a piece of agate.

We stopped and dug through several ant hills in hopes of finding some stars. We were only able to find a few in one pile and even found a stack of them.

Exploring the sides of the ravine.
