Wednesday was the 5th grade talent show at the Elementary school. Carson and some friends Jack W. on the bass guitar, Weston C. singing, and Jacob B. on the drums) formed a "band" and played a song together. When he came to me and told me he was going to be playing Thunderstruck by AC/DC on the recorder in a band, I chuckled to myself. I didn't think they were really serious about it. But, their sweet music teacher found the simplified music for them and practiced with them two days a week after school for a few weeks. They did quite a good job, even though you couldn't really hear the recorder part over the drums. I'm just proud that Carson was able to get out of his comfort zone and to go out and perform in front of the school. It's not something I would have ever done at that age.
