We spent our Labor Day Weekend in Jackson camping for the 2nd year. Christian took off all day Friday so that we could get things all packed up and ready to go. As soon as the boys got home from school a little before 2, we headed out. We traveled through Yellowstone and saw a large herd of buffalo and some deer on our trip through. We had a contest to see who could see the first large game animal in the park. Carson was the first to spot some buffalo and he won a candy bar of his choice. We stopped in West Thumb to walk around and look at the geysers there. As we were finishing our loop around, a storm came in brining some nasty wind and rain/sleet. We got to camp around 6. We got our things set up and enjoyed some steaks for dinner with my parents and their friends the Whitlocks. After dinner we watched a movie and then snuggled in for the night.

Saturday morning, we woke up to rain (it rained through the night as well). It was my mom's turn for breakfast so we helped make loads of bacon, eggs, and hash browns.

When were done with breakfast, we got showered and ready for the day and headed into Jackson (since it was rainy and chilly) to do some shopping and eat dinner and to meet up with my sister, Megan and Sadey (Brett and Cathy's daughter). We walked around the little shops and bought a few things and decided to not do the Alpine Slide and just eat an early dinner to beat the rush. After dinner, we headed back to camp. We saw a big herd of elk on our way back through. Once we got back, we got in our pj's and played some games and watched a movie.

Sunday, we woke up to a nicer day. Whitlocks made breakfast (blueberry pancakes, fruit, eggs and bacon) for us all and then we got ready for the day.

We spent a few hours down by the lake throwing rocks and kayaking. It was a beautiful afternoon. Carson loved the kayaking and got so that he was really good at it.

Ok. These little chipmonk guys were everywhere and provided us with hours of entertainment. I happened to walk outside and drop a chip with some dip on it just as this little guy appeared. He sat for quite a bit and ate it. After lunch, we put the younger two down for naps and played some cards. While we were playing cards, Carson kept chasing the chipmonks. Christian had an idea for him to try and catch one. They rigged up a box with a stick and put a cheetoh under the box. The tied the end of a fishing line to the stick an sat Carson in a chair and he waited for chipmonks to come inside the box. He would pull on his fishing pole, making the stick come out and the box down onto of the chipmonk. He caught a couple and each time, they would escape under the box. So, they found a more level spot on the ground where they wouldn't be able to escape under. The next time one came inside, he was able to catch it! My dad and Christian both hurried to try and cover the side holes and just as they did, the chipmonk came flying out of the hole! IT WAS HILARIOUS! After that, they used some duct tape to cover the holes and waited for another one. It didn't take long for another one to come and he CAUGHT it. It was trying it's hardest to dig it's way out, so Carson released it only for it to run straight for me! I screamed and it seriously stopped right like 3 inches from my toes. Needless to say, we are easily entertained and had lots of fun!

After our adventures in chipmonk catching, we decided to take our friend's motor scooters around to check out the entire campground. It's a lot bigger than I ever knew.
That night, we did our usual foil dinners down at the fire pits. This year, we used two fire pits, which made cooking the dinners a lot faster. The night was beautiful, but a little chilly (but there was no wind).

Monday, we got up and packed up our camper. We headed out at 11 and drove to Fishing Bridge where we stopped for some lunch. We continued home and got home and unloaded everything. It was a great weekend and we had loads of fun!
