Carving pumpkins

For family home evening last night, we finally carved our pumpkins. The boys picked their pumpkins from grandma Asay's garden a few weeks ago and were  really excited about getting to finally carve them. Earlier in the afternoon, we got on the computer and the boys each picked out the template they wanted to use on their pumpkins. I thought they picked some really good ones this year. Carson and Travis both did a great job this year of cleaning out their pumpkins all on their own. Landon...he really didn't want anything to do with cleaning out the guts.
All smiles as the cleaning began. Our pumpkins had been outside in the cold, so they were a little chilly to clean out by hand.

Travis thought it was really funny to pretend he was puking with the stuff from the inside.

This is about as involved as Landon got. I ended up cleaning out most of it for him.

One large pile of guts!

The final products:
Landon's fatty batty.

Carson and his mummy!

Travis and cyclops the pumpkin.

We made it through our carving only breaking one chair! Landon tipped over backwards in the chair at the beginning and when Christian went to sit in it to carve Landon's pumpkin, the back broke off. We just can't have anything nice!

  2. Cute pumpkins. We have folding chairs for the past four years in pullman. They are breaking down on us. I guess once we are done with school we can finally be real adults and buy real chairs lol :)
