Weaning Calves

Yesterday, we went into Dry Head to help grandpa Asay wean his calves. Chrstian left about 6:30 to head up with Jared and Daniel. The boys and I left around 9 with grandma Asay and Kasi and her kids. It was a beautiful day up there. It was kind of cloudy part of the time, making it so it wasn't so hot. We got there just as they were loading up the trailers with calves. After they loaded as much as they could into the trailers, the trucks and trailers took off to unload at home and the rest of the group kicked the mommas back out over the hill and went to round up another group. On this round up, Carson got to ride Mike all by himself and Travis rode on a horse with Christian. After returning with another group and separating them, we cooked some burgers and had lunch. It was then back to work kicking out the mommas over the hill and gathering up the last bunch for the day. This time, Travis rode Mike while Christian led him and Carson rode one of Ray Snell's horses. After they brought the last group in, they sorted, loaded and then we cleaned up camp and headed home. A couple trucks had to go back in again that night to get a few more.
