Mexico!

Day six, we finally made it to Cozumel, Mexico. Here we had made arrangements to take a tour of the Maya Ruins of Tulum. Christian and Jabin had never seen them and it had been like ten years since we had gone. After we got off the ship, we loaded smaller water taxi that took us to a different place in Mexico. After our half hour bumpy boat ride, we had about a half hour bus ride to the ruins.
The pier at Cozumel, Mexico.
While we were waiting for our guide to take us to the bus, we noticed a funny sign (the the right of Christian). Luckily we didn't see any nudists!

As we were walking to our bus, we saw this giant rodent of some sort.

There were iguanas everywhere on our tour!

Half way through our bus ride, we made a stop at  a little shop on the side of the road to use the bathroom and to let us shop. They had some really interesting facts about the mayans painted on the outside of the little store.

Tulum is an amazing place. The structures that are there are really interesting to see and learn about. We had a tour guide that knew A TON about it all and ended up talking FOREVER and only leaving us about 30 minutes to look around the whole site. One sad thing was that when we came ten years ago, we were able to go right up to the ruins and be on them. Now, for good reasons, everything is roped off and you can't very close to the them.

Tulum. The ruins are amazing.

Here we are listening to our tour guide...or maybe by this point we had stopped using the little head phone sets they had given us so that we could hear our guide!

I think these guys were playing king of the hill!

When you get to some of the ruins that were built higher on a hill, you can look over and see the sea. It's a beautiful sight. We were wishing we had brought our swim suites so we could take a dip.

we were wishing we were one of these people!

This way to the beach! My dad being silly as usual!
It's sad to say, but we were happy when it come time to load the bus and were greeted with tuna and crackers for lunch in our little lunch boxes that were provided. We were kind of disappointed with the tour itself and were sad when we found out that the free excursion we skipped out on sounded like lots of fun!
