Track

Travis finished his 7th grade track season this weekend. He has had a great year and improved SO much. I am sad that they didn't have the opportunity to compete more (they only had 3 meets and conference) and continue to improve more! He threw PR's in the shot and the discuss at our home track meet. He threw the shot 24' 11.5" and the discuss 76'7.25". He had a goal to qualify for the best of the best meet this year in the discuss. To qualify, you have to throw the discuss 80 feet. He was pretty confident (and so was I)that he could becuse he only needed to throw it 4 more feet to qualify and he had improved 10+ feet each meet. But, mother nature did not cooperate at the conference track meet, and the wind was blowing like crazy (gusts of 50+ mph), which made throwing the discus pretty hard. He didn't end up qualifying this year, but he has bought a rubber disc to practice with over the summer so that next year he can make the best of the best!

Landon and Carson are great supporters...as long as they have had enough sleep!
