Halloween Festivities
Here are some of the things we did this last week to celebrate Halloween:
On Wednesday evening, we finally got around to carving pumpkins. I knew if it didn't happen that night, it probaby wasn't going to happen, and even then, it had to happen in shifts because Carson had yound mens.
Thursday, I went and helped fill Halloween bags with Cassie and my mom at the store. Each year Blair's hands out bags full of treats. Several vendors from the store (pepsi, nabisco, etc...) donate items to add to the bags. They end up getting some really great things. This year there was pop, apples, full size candy bars, toothbrushes, free hot chocolate certificates, Halloween toys, chips, stuffed Coca-cola bears, fruit snacks, crackers and dunkaroos. We ended up filling over 250 bags for them to give out on Friday during the town business trick or treat!
Friday first thing in the morning, the elementary school had their Halloween costume parade. It was fun to be able to see them this year! Landon wanted to dress as Alfalfa from the Little Rascals and he nailed it! He made the perfect Alfalfa!!
Right after school, we did the downtown business trick or treat for a couple of hours. Landon was the only one that dressed up, but all the boys ended up with some candy!
Saturday, we had wrestling in the morning, but that evening, I took Travis and Landon around to one neighborhood that every house was going to be handing out candy. One house on this block always gives out theatre sized candy and lets the kids slide down their slide in their house.
Sunday, was actually Halloween, so we decided that after church and tithing settlement, we would get the boys dressed up and make the rounds to visit all the grandparents. We started by heading to Powell and stopped by Really Grandma's house (my grandma). We visited and the boys enjoyed playing with the giant marbles while she shared stories with us.
Next we stopped by grandma and grandpa Foulger's house and baby Remi was there too! We visited with them all for a bit and then made our way back over to Lovell.
We stopped by Grandpa Monk and Donna's for a bit and then trick or treated grandpa and grandma Asay. There we had chilli and scones for dinner! YUM!! It was weird having it on a Sunday this year, but it was fun to spend the day visiting with all our extended family!
