State Football
To celebrate the team going to state, the booster club hosted a meet and greet as a send off to the team. The community was able to come and visit and the football players signed autographs. They had a blast and felt like celebrities!
A group of mom's got together and decorated their bus before they left!
The team left Friday morning to head down to Laramie. They had lunch in Casper and then practiced in Laramie at one of the high schools. That evening, we did a nice ham dinner for the team and then they got to tour the athletic facility at War Memorial Stadium. Carson said it was awesome to see all the cool training things they had for the football team! After the tour, they watched part of the 3A championship game before heading to their hotel for the night.
We left at lunch on Friday and picked up Christian on our way. First thing we did when we got to Laramie was check into our room and then we headed over to Corona Village for dinner to try and beat the crowds. It was our favorite place to eat when we lived in Laramie and was as yummy as I remembered! We made a trip up to Wal-Mart and then went back to the hotel and let the boys swim.
Saturday morning, we got up, had breakfast and then headed to the game. Our game was at 10. It was a beautiful morning for football! The forecast had called for 40 mph winds, but the wind ended up being minimal during the game and I only wore a sweatshirt. It was such a cool experience to watch these boys play in War Memorial Stadium where the Wyoming Cowboys play. The atmosphere was so fun and Lovell had a huge crowd, making it lots of fun!
Lovell ended up losing a heartbreaker of a game 8-6, but they played so well! Hopefully they can make it back there next year!!
A couple weeks later, they had the school had their fall sports banquet and he lettered for the second year and the team was also awarded a Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Award for the the team having a 3.2 average GPA from the Wyoming Athletics Association.
