Monk Family Reunion

This weekend, we spent together with Christian's side of the family at the Monk Family Reunion. Grandma Asay hosted and planned the reunion. Friday started with breakfast at Grandma Asay's house with visiting, horse rides and family trivia.

Travis and Britt both won a guessing game and won treat as a prize!

After horse rides, it was scheduled to head up to 5 Springs for a picnic lunch, hiking and hanging out. We headed out around 12, got up the mountain to find that there were no open camp spots, so we drove to another spot down the mountain and it didn't have a bathroom or any shade, so after 45 minutes of driving around, we just deicded to go back to Grandma Asay's house for our picnic. We sat around and visited and played corn hole.

That evening, Grandpa Monk and Donna hosted dinner at their house. They arranged for Pat Steed to come and give wagon rides. It was fun to go for a little ride down the country roads and back again.

For dinner that night, Jared roasted a pig to eat. We had pulled pork sandwiches and salads for dinner.

After dinner, we did a white elephant gift exchange. The kids did one first and then the adults did one. We ended up getting some pretty good prizes!

The rest of the evening was spend visiting and listening to Grandpa Monk tell stories from his life.
