Back to school!

We've been trying to fit in all that we can the last couple weeks before school starts and made sure to get in our yearly back to school traditions.

For the few weeks before school started, I took each of the boys out to lunch of their choice. Landon choose to get tacos at Maverick and both Carson and Travis decided on burgers from the bar. It was fun to visit with each of them and hear about things they are worried about and looking forward to when school starts.

Carson was mostly worried about lunch. He is convinced that everyone was going to be going to Maverick every day for lunch. I reassured him that I was pretty sure not that many would be going there for lunch and he wouldn't be the only one eating school lunch!

Travis has been stressing about not being able to put things in his locker before school starts. He is all sorts of worried about not having it all put in his locker and having to do it first thing and being late for his first class. I told him everyone would be in the same boat as him.

We had to do our school shopping in two trips this summer. Landon did summer school that went through the beginning of August, so we went one day after he was done with school and got all of our shoes and gear for fall sports. We did another trip a week or so later and finished getting clothes and school supplies. 

The middle school announced that they would be doing a couple of days where the students could come to the school and find their lockers, put things in them and see around. This was a huge relief for Travis who had been stressing over not having time to do it the first day. He sure felt better about things after that!

We had our annual Back to School dinner the Sunday before school started. We had steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, parmesan zucchini, jello and key lime pie for dessert.
