Blair's Market

My dad and his twin brother recently retired from the grocery business. This was a neat little write up about my grandparents and the start of Blairs Market.

Today marks 40 years since Blair and Norene Foulger opened the doors to Blair’s Market in Powell, WY. The Foulgers had just become empty nesters and were presented with the opportunity to purchase a small store. The couple had 24 hours to decide if they’d like to take on the challenge, at which point they accepted. They began their small business journey on June 1, 1980. Blair’s has always been a family business. On opening day Blair, Norene, and their daughter Kathy manned the store. After approximately a year or so, twin brothers, Kent and Brent joined their parents in the day to day operations. Kent and Brent purchased the store from Blair when he retired and further developed the business. Blair’s Market has held several locations over the years, with stores in Cody, a new location in Powell, Worland, Thermopolis, and Greybull. Our love and support of our communities has always been paramount. Now, forty years later, Kent and Brent have retired and the 3rd generation of family grocers are prepared to continue the service and community pride we have become known for. Thank you for all the years of support, we couldn’t do it without our amazing guests!
