Today was the official last day of school as we finally turned in all of our distance learning items to the school! The kids were actually done with "learning" on Friday, but today made it feel official. It was sad to have our last day be the way it was. We drove up to the school and each of the kid's teachers came out to the car and took back items that belonged to the school and gave them their end of year items. Each teacher was masked and gloved, but it was still so nice to see their faces so that the boys could say goodbye. This whole distance learning was hard on lots of levels, but we made it through. I'm sad the boys didn't get to be with their friends and enjoy the end of the year fun things. This will definitely be something they will never forget and will tell their future posterity about!!

| We got to say hi to grandma Asay while we were dropping off Landon's items. |
In Travis and Landon's packets they picked up from the school, they had awards for the kids in there. Travis receive the Presidential Excellence Award (for being super smart...according to him), the collaborative kid (from his teacher) for always being willing to work with anyone any time and not throwing a fit about it (I can't believe there are some that still do that in 5th grade), an award for student council and one for his music k-8 art poster.
That night to celebrate, they put up the tent and stayed the night in it. I didn't know if they would all make it or not, but they did!
We usually do a school's out party with friends after the last day of school, but with the social distancing practices, we decided just to have a neighborhood ice cream social in our backyard to celebrate the official last day of school. Our kids have hung out with all the other kids in the neighborhood, just about every day for the last month, so we decided it was safe to have a party with all of them. We enjoyed ice cream and lots of toppings and being with friends. There ended up being 32 of us celebrating together!!
