Districts baseball

Travis's baseball season is officially over for this year. The Mustang's team competed at he Districts tournament this weekend in Riverton, winning the consolation bracket. It really wasn't the finish they wanted (we really should have finished in the top two), but they came back to end on a good note.

Our first game was played the weekend before in Powell against Riverton. We beat them 7-6 after being up 6-1 most of the game. Winning that game meant we didn't have to be in Riverton until Thursday for his game. Travis traveled down with Rael's so we could wait for Carson to get home from camp. He actually threw up in their car on the way down, but luckily they had enough time to recoup from being car sick before they played. We met up with Christian (who had been working in Riverton) and drove to Lander to look at horse before the game.
They played against a good Cody team and lost 10-0. We really struggled to bat and that really hurt us.  That evening, they team got together for pizza for dinner.
Ready for some baseball!
Friday, we ended up playing Rock Springs. We had played them two weeks earlier and beat them by mercy rule, so we figured they would win. They struggled again, and they ended up loosing 1-6. After loosing that game, the team had the option to be done, or continue to play in the consolation bracket. The boys decided they wanted to keep playing and would play more on Saturday. The boys had a blast hanging out together, swimming, playing whiffle ball and just running around being boys that day. In the evening, the league took all the boys (and families came along) to see the movie The Lion King and then took the boys out for dinner at Arby's.
Playing whiffle ball in the courtyard at the hotel.

Saturday, we started the day by watching the 12U team play in the Championship game and win it! After their game, the Mustang's played the same Riverton team we had played our first game of the tournament. They were able to beat them 4-0, which meant they played again, right after that game against Bridger Valley. The boys played well and beat them 16-0, making them the consolation bracket winners. It was great to see them end the season on a good note. They really had a great season and they were so fun to watch. I'm always thankful for the coaches that put so much time into coaching. Travis had some great coaches again this year and it really helped him to grow!

The ride to Lander to pick up the horse proved to be the best time for a nap!
