Thanksgiving weekend

We've had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. The kids were out of school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday we went over to Powell and helped Grandma Foulger prepare food for Thanksgiving day and hung out with Megan and Sloane.

Thanksgiving morning, Christian took the boys out pheasant hunting. They met up with Daniel, Britt, Jacob, Connor (his cousin) and Kevin W. Christian shot one, Carson got one (but they couldn't find it once it hit the ground and took off running) and two other people each got one.

We headed over to Powell around 12:30 for Thanksgiving lunch. Jabin had flown in the night before, so it was us, Grandpa and Grandma, Megan, Jabin and Sloane, along with Jason and Cassie (who came and ate a little because they were cooking for her family a little later). The food was delicious and it was great to be together as family. We sat around and talked and played some cards before having some pie and then taking off for Grandpa and Grandma Asay's house.

The boys loved getting to hang out and play with Sloane.
At Grandpa and Grandma Asay's, we visited with everyone and had some pie. The kids decided they wanted Grandma Asay to show them how to  crochet. It's a good thing she has lots of supplies for all the grandkids that wanted to learn!

Friday was the annual preg testing of the cows. The boys love getting to be outside helping and working cows!

Friday night after working cows, everyone washed up and we went to see the movie the Grinch. It was a full movie and was pretty cute.

Saturday, Christian took the boys out to help do cows again. While they were doing that, I went with Emily and Janelle to Burlington to their little craft fair. While I waited for the boys to get home, I decorated the tree upstairs. This year, we got another tree to put downstairs for the boys to decorate with all of their favorite ornaments. They didn't like the past few years when I've decorated the tree the way I wanted to and they didn't get to put on their handmade ornaments and such. They were super excited this year that they had a kid tree to decorate how they wanted! After they had all showered, they took right to getting theirs decorated.

Travis was not so happy to have his picture taken.

We spent the rest of the evening just chilling at home. It was so nice to have an evening at home with all of us there and nothing planned!

  1. I love the second tree idea, but both trees look great!
