We have been trying to soak up as much of what's left of summer as possible. The weather is already starting to change and I'm so sad to see it go early. I was hoping for a warm fall. We took advantage of Saturday being a nice day and hit the lake in the morning. I'm pretty sure it was only 65 degrees when we got out to the lake, but the sun was shining (the best it could with all the smoke in the air) and it felt warm. The boys skied, tubed, wake boarded and knee boarded until they couldn't stand it. We took some time to explore the shore and cliff jump before heading home.
We came across this little creature as we were looking at the random Billy goats that were clearly far from their home. We think it was a mink. We watched it as he ran across the rocks into a hole, and, to our surprise, caught a duck and ate it! It was pretty cool to see the mink and the duck struggle.

| We enjoyed chicken for lunch. |
We had to make a pit stop at one of the outhouses on the shore. The boys had a great time exploring and skipping rocks!

Around 5 that evening, we headed into Dry Head with both sets of grandparents. We had plans to pick choke cherries and have a picnic, but we arrived to find almost NO choke cherries. We were able to pick about half a up full. For whatever reason, this was an off year for choke cherries. It was sad. We did have fun grilling some hot dogs and having a picnic and enjoying the good company.

The boys were definitely wound up and thought they were being funny as they imitated the kids from the movie Heavy Weights when they hold their signs up on their butts. They were giggling like crazy!
