Weekend

The weekend was beautiful and we took full advantage of it! Friday night, after we dropped Travis off at baseball practice, we drove around to see if the asparagus was starting to come up or not. We weren't able to locate any yet...probably because it has been pretty chilly. While we were driving around, we stopped to fix some of Grandpa Asay's electric fence. While Christiana was working on that, Carson asked if he could drive. I told him to ask his dad, so he did. When Christian said yes, he was super surprised and he got his first lesson in driving. As fast as time goes, he'll be driving before I know it!
Driving for the first time.
Saturday was Carson's first middle school track meet in Greybull. Their two previous ones had been cancelled due to weather (although one of them they totally could have had). He competed in the discuss, long jump and 100 meter dash. He thought he was supposed to do the shot put, but for whatever reason, they never called his name to do it. Who knows? He did pretty good for it being his first time. He knows now what he needs to work on  to improve. It was a beautiful day and we came away with some sunburns!

After Carson got home from the track meet (we left when he was done with all of his events), we loaded up the 4 wheelers, grabbed some greek bus food for dinner and headed out for a ride in the hills. Our plan was to try and drive up the "L" on sheep mountain, but we were never able to find the right road to take us there. It was a fun adventure and the boys enjoyed being able to explore and find rocks.
Enjoying some Greek food for dinner.
Heading out!
That evening, we watched a movie, hung out and the boys all got hair cuts. Christian got a crazy idea while I was cutting his hair that he was going to shave off all of his facial hair! He didn't tell the boys that he was going to. Once he shaved it all off and showered, he got dressed in clothes he doesn't normally wear, put on some sunglasses and went outside and rang the doorbell. The boys and I were downstairs, so they had no idea what was going on. When the doorbell rang, Travis ran upstairs to answer the door. When he answered it, he had no idea it was Christian. The look on his face was priceless!

The many stages of Christian's transformation:

What's even more funny is that I could remember one other time, since we've been married, that Christian had shaved all of his facial hair off.  I went back through my blog books to see when it was. It ended up being almost 10 years ago to the day that he did it!! There were a lot of confused and astonished people and he got all sorts of comments. One friend thought we were getting a new bishopric Sunday because all the members of the Stake Presidency were in our sacrament and Christian had shaved. Christian, said he regretted shaving it off as soon as he did it. So, he's in the process of growing it all back!!
