Wrestling wrap-up

Travis wrapped up his first USA wrestling season this weekend by wrestling in Greybull. It was actually a pretty tough day for him wrestling wise (but we are happy that he didn't throw up this time)

 Warming up

These three boys got to be pretty good friends...even though they all had to wrestle each other every tournament. It was fun to see them cheer each other on...when they weren't wrestling one another!
 First match
He started the day with a bye and then had to wrestle his teammate Triffen Jolley (who has taken first at all of the tournaments). Travis ended up getting pinned by him, but wrestled him better than any other time this year.
Travis's coach giving him a couple quick pointers before his first match.

Second Match
.After loosing, he had to wrestle another teammate Joaquin Scheeler. Travis wrestled him really aggressive, but just couldn't get a win. I think that Travis can actually beat him (even though they have wrestled just about every tournament and Travis has lost), but he doesn't think he can in his head and that really affects how he wrestles.

Last Match
He was pretty down that he lost to both of his teammates, but wrestled really well against his kid, pinning him and taking 5th place. Lovell ended up taking 1st, 3rd, and 5th in Travis's weight bracket. There were a couple of wild cards that hadn't wrestled this weight before that kind of shook things up. He was happy that he ended the day on a win and got a ribbon. We actually weren't sure if his opponent was going to show up or not to wrestle him because he had forfeited his other matches earlier.

5th place
Travis loved everything about wrestling and is sure looking forward to next year. It was good for him to have something that challenged him physically and mentally (even though he needs to work on his anxiety a little bit). Most of the kids he wrestled this year had been wrestling for 3 years, with that said, he did a great job for it being his first year. Now it's on to baseball...

Christian went in as much as he could this season to help during practice and plans to get fully certified to be a coach next year so that he can "legally" help with practices and go down and coach during the tournaments. He loved getting to be back in the wrestling environment.
