Thanksgiving activities

We had a great Thanksgiving and have been enjoying the boys days off from school. They only had two days this week and we have kept busy!

Wednesday, Landon woke up throwing up, but acted normal the entire rest of the day. We spent the day at home just in case. We were supposed to have a big storm hit Wednesday and Thursday, but only got enough snow to just cover the ground. We were all hoping that we would wake up Thursday morning to several inches of snow, but it didn't happen. The boys and I cleaned first thing which was great motivation for them to get to put the tree up. We decorated the tree when we were done with all of our chores. In the past, we have always done colored lights and filled our tree with all of our ornaments. This year, I decided to do white lights and some different ornaments. I told the boys that we were going to do a more old fashioned tree, which they weren't excited to hear about. Travis told me we should do a new fashion tree because they are much better. We made cinnamon ornaments that smell great (and made our house smell good too)! I find Carson with his nose glued to these ornaments several times a day...he loves the smell of them!
After the tree was up and decorated, Carson worked on his thankful tree his primary teacher gave him to make. He did a really good job and is thankful for many things.

When he was finished with that, Landon went down for a nap and the two older boys worked on making place setting cards for everyone that was going to be at grandma Asay's house for dinner on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving day, the boys all went out with Christian and some of his brothers to do a little pheasant hunting. They only shot one pheasant while they were out. The made it home just in time for me to give each of them hair cuts, shower and then head out to grandma Asay's house for lunch. We decided this year that instead of eating at both parent's houses, we would only eat at one and have dessert at the other and then we would switch at Christmas. This year, all but one of Christian's brothers were at his mom's for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal, the cousins played together and we looked through the black Friday ads. Around 5 we made our way to Powell to hang out at Grandma Foulger's house. We showed up as they were actually getting ready to eat (their turkey took longer than they thought to cook). After they finished, we played cards and had dessert. We are so grateful for all the many things that we have!

Landon and Travis worked on trying to get all the leaves off the tramp after lunch. They ended up going and getting a broom to sweep it off.
