Shopping Jaco

Sunday, after breakfast, we took a taxi into a little beach town named Jaco (like taco but with an "h" at the beginning). We walked up one side of the street and down the other shopping in the little stores. We found souvenirs to take home to the boys (hand painted swords) and other trinkets. We stopped in for some ice cream to cool down.
Christian and his passion fruit had a breakfast.

It looked like fish eggs but were actually sweet, but had a weird texture.

My dad so excited about shopping in the heat and humidity!

A look down the street of the shops.
A lot of the shops looked like this. They were open and had things hung all over. You were really lucky if you found one with air conditioning!

There were lots of little huts around that had razor wire all along the fences. The houses were similar. They looked like what we would use as sheds and had bars on the windows and the razor wire around the outside on the fences.

There were little geckos on the ceilings at night that would catch little bugs flying around. They weren't in our rooms, luckily!

For dinner that night we walked down to the marina and ate dinner at an Italian restaurant with my grandparents. They had yummy bread to dip in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and I ordered the yummiest lasagna I've ever had.
Ready to go to dinner.

Our crew at dinner.

My delicious lasagna!

Christian loved the balsamic and oil so much he tried to suck it up through a hard piece of bread that looked like a straw!

On our way back to the resort after dinner, we found these two little guys: a baby gecko and a frog.

Once again, we played cards until late at night.

The sunset that night was beautiful!
