Christian and I just got back from a week long vacation to the country of Costa Rica (so be prepared for lots of pictures over the next week). It was AMAZING (and hot and humid). Our boys were taken care of by Grandpa and Grandma Asay while we were gone and we are so thankful for their willingness to help us out!
We left Thursday (Jan. 8) from Billings, MT around 5 pm. We flew to Salt Lake, then to L.A. and then on down to San Jose, Costa Rica. Our last flight was like 6 hours long and we flew all night arriving at 7 in the morning Friday the 9th.
We got our bags and loaded a bus with a bunch of other grocers and drove for 1.5 hours to the resort, Los Suenos, in Herradura. We stepped off the bus to major humidity and heat! I don't think I've ever sweat so much in my life as I have on this trip! We found our rooms, had some breakfast and then met at the pool to cool down.

Pictures of the country side as we drove to the resort. There was lots of cattle and horses and goats around and LOTS of green vegetation!

 |
| Breakfast our first morning. We loved all the fresh fruit, pastries and rice and beans every morning. |
We found my aunt and uncle and their kids down by the pool and we all sat around in the afternoon sun and chatted and laughed. It was so fun to be together and catch up with everyone.
 |
| We referred to this area as Foulger cove. It was actually more of a kiddie pool, but we enjoyed ourselves in it! |
The animals we saw on our trip were awesome and abundant! While we were sitting at the pool, we saw a couple of iguanas, a humming bird and a couple of the macaws that frequented the resort daily.

 |
| The macaws were actually a lot bigger than I was expecting them to be, but were so pretty. The would sit and eat fruit from the trees. |
After we had lunch that day, we went down to the harbor that was behind the resort. The beach wasn't the greatest (it was pretty pebbley), but the water was super warm! We looked for a few shells while we explored and found a few little black crabs that were super fast!

| You have to look hard but the little crab in hanging out by the bigger rock. |

| Our resort from the tower at sunset. The sun set about 5:30 every night.

We had dinner at a great steak house that night and stayed up playing cards with my mom and and dad while we waited for my sister and her husband to arrive (they got there around midnight).
Beautiful! Can't wait to see the rest of your pics
