We got a turtle!

Last Christmas, Landon wanted a turtle in the worst way. We did some research and looking around and it was proving hard to find any around here and we learned that they can live forever. So, needless to say, Santa didn't bring one. Fastforward to this summer. One of Christian's co-workers finds a turtle at a golf course and brings it back and leaves it in Christian's office for him to bring home to the boys. Landon was super excited to finally get a turtle! We told him that he could keep it until it started to get cold, then it would have to find a new home. I was not about to bring it in the house. It stank and was just gross! Landon was very diligent about catching it grasshoppers to eat (it would eat like a dozen a day) and changing it's water every couple of days. Once schools started, he had less time and the grasshoppers were starting to be harder to get, so we sent him to live with one of his other co-workers.

We first thought the kiddie pool would be a great place for him to live, but quickly discovered it could climb up the side and would either get out, or flop over backwards and land on his back. We decided to house him in a tote instead.
