May Randoms

May has been the craziest month! Here are a few things we have done this month: The 3rd graders made kites in art and got to fly them. It took three attempts for it to happen due to bad weather, but they got to do it!!

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a fiesta!

We have tried to go out ad pick asparagus as much as we can! This is one of our favorite things to do in the Spring! We have picked, and picked and picked and LOVED eating it!

Travis competed in the local homerun derby. He didn't win, but had fun competing!

Landon was awarded the character counts award for integrity! He is a great kid who always tries to do what is right and I am so proud of him for doing it!

We got a new horse and put her to work the very next day! Brett and Cathy Whitlock (family friends) were so kind to give the boys one of their horses. Cathy, the new name of the horse (we name them after the people we get them from) is a 25 year old foxtrotter and she is great! The day after we got her, we helped grandpa Asay move cows and she got to help. Christian rode her pretty hard for the first couple of hours while they were rounding up cows and then Landon jumped on her and rode her the rest of the day. She was a little freaked out by the cows and 4 wheelers at first (probably because she has never been aroudn them), but did a great job! It will be so nice to have a horse that kids can ride and feel safe on!!

We have had lots and lots of baseball! Travis and Landon are both playing and having successful years this year! THey both pitch and catch. Travis also plays 3rd base and Landon also plays short stop.

I'm sure there are other things I'm missing, but these are the big ones!
