Camping

We got to spend the last weekend up in the Big Horns camping. Christian took Friday off, so when he got home Thursday evening, we hooked up the camper and headed up. We were able to meet up with our friends, the Crosby's, and camp by them. We got to camp around 7, set up our stuff and the kids went to work on shooting bows, building a fort and playing night games. We stayed up way too late talking, while the boys watched a movie in the tent with Kyson and Davin before falling asleep for the night.

Friday, we got up and cooked breakfast. After breakfast was done, the kids and guys shot the bows, we hung out , had lunch and then we decided to go fishing at the Cow Camp pond while the Crosby's went to the Medicine Wheel. They boys had pretty good success catching fish there. They were worried we weren't going to be able to catch any since there was a bull moose in the pond as we drove up.

Carson taking a turn shooting the bow. The boys are now convinced that they need compound bows.
Lunch time!
Our boys had so much fun with the Crosby boys! There was lots of laughing when they were together.

On our way to Cow Camp, we saw a nice sized herd of cow elk on a hill. It's hard to see them, but there were about a dozen of them!

That evening, we hung out and the boys rode the 4-wheelers over to the ranger station pond to fish. They had a blast going, just the boys.
We cooked the fish the boys caught for dinner that night.
The boys' fort they were building.

Crosby's had to leave that night, but didn't leave until dark.

Saturday, we slept in and had kind of a late breakfast. After breakfast, we decided to hike Porcupine Falls. It's pretty steep hike, but worth it to see the falls. Landon was the only one brave enough to bring shorts and get in the water. It was super cold!

After our hike, we headed back to the camper and had some sandwiches for lunch and then loaded up our fishing gear and headed to Half Ounce to fish the stream. We were getting nervous that we weren't going to find a spot to fish because there were so many people out and about by the usual places they we go. We were able to find a pull-out spot to park and decided to give the littler part of the stream a chance. We had great success and were able to catch around 40 little fish! If we hadn't run out of worms, we would have caught lots more!

The wild flowers on the mountain were beautiful!
I'm pretty sure Carson won the prize for the littlest fish!

When we ran out of worms, we headed back to the truck and went back to pack up camp. We decided to leave our camper up there so that we could come back and camp again! While we were packing up, Carson and Travis shot a squirrel our of a tree. They had been trying all weekend to get one, but didn't have any success until right before we were ready to leave!
