Friday after Landon was done with summer school, the boys and I made our way back to Bozeman for Travis's last baseball tournament. They had an awesome weekend, which was a great way for them to end their season. Our first stop as we drove into Bozeman was Kohls to make some returns. Montana had issued a state wide mask mandate the week before, so we were required to wear masks any time we were in public and could not socially distance. It was funny to look back over my shoulder and see the boys with their masks on...they looked like bandits!
Their first game was against Belgrade and Lovell beat them by 2. They had a team dinner at the park afterwards and played some whiffle ball. It was fun to sit and listen and watch them just be boys!
After dinner, we went to our hotel. Travis went and hung out with his teammates and we watched some t.v.. Saturday morning, they boys played Gillette. It was an awesome game! Gillette had won the Billings tournament we had played in previously and were a great team, but we were better that day! The team ate at Arby's afterwards and then we grabbed some Cold Stone ice cream for a treat. Their last game was against Triple Play (a combined Billings team with the best of 2 teams). We ended up tying with them and couldn't go an extra inning because of time schedule. It was so fun to see the boys end on a high note. The Colts would have started tournament play on Sunday seeded #1 if we would have played on Sunday (all the tournaments have been Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but our team chooses not to play on Sundays). Our team has definitely put their name out there. We are from a much smaller community that other teams we play, but they are a great group of boys who love to play baseball! They have good coaches that love the game and are willing to devote lots of time to their program.
