Catch Up!

A few weeks ago, Christian and the two younger boys made a trip down to Laramie to watch the Cowboys play football. We had bought tickets at a benefit dinner months before, not thinking about that it would be during wrestling season. As a result, Carson and I stayed home so he could go to wrestling. Grandpa and Grandma Asay went with them too. They had a blast and were one of the lucky people to get the hats they were handing out for free at the game!
All Travis could talk about for days before the game was getting one of these hats. The first line they got in to get one, they gave away their last one right before it was his turn. Christian was afraid he wasn't going to get one, but uncle Jacob suggested they try another spot and luckily, they had boxes left!

While they were gone, Carson and I made a trip up to Billings to pick up our new oven we had ordered, ran a few errands and then ate at Texas Roadhouse (Carson's pick) for dinner.
Carson wasn't a very good co-pilot on the drive there...

The boys have been trying to do as much pheasant hunting as they can! The season is over at the end of the year, so every Saturday, they head out for a few hours and hunt. Last weekend, Carson was the only one to get any and he got two! One of them had some really nice tail feathers and when they measured them, they found that they were 24 inches long!

We also tried our hand at making pheasant jerkey. Travis had be asking if we could try it for a while and Christian finally decided to try it. We borrowed uncle Daniel's dehydrater and it turned out pretty good. The boys are convinced we need to do it every time we get pheasant now.

For Halloween, Carson was a secret service agent. We had watched videos and seen pictures of my cousin, who is a secret service agent, work with President trump and that's when he decided that's what he wanted to be for Halloween. Fast forward a couple of months, Carson got a package in the mail with a secret service pin and a paper weight (? we think) from my cousin who is in the secret service. He was so pumped!

Travis was elected to be his class representative this year for student council. The school had posters made of them to hang up in the gym. They arrived one day while I was subbing the office, so I got to be one of the first ones to look at them. They ended up being twice as big as they were planning, making them life-sized! The other lady in the office went and got Travis to have him come look at them, so of course, we had to take a picture of him next to it! He's super excited to get to bring it home at the end of the year to hang in his room. I, on the other hand, am really wishing they were quite smaller!

Travis has a goal to try and be in the paper as much as he can! Lately, he's been in there 3 times.

At the downtown trick or treat, you can have the businesses sign off on a paper that you visited them and if you hit all of them, you can turn in your paper and be entered into a drawing for $50 in chamber bucks. We always do the trick or treat, but have never turned our paper in because we never go to all the businesses. This year we decided to do it, and Travis's name was drawn. We were able to go to the movie as a family and then he picked out a thing of ice cream from Minchows to share with the family.

The newspaper published the letters to santa. I love to read all the kid's letters. They are so much fun! This was Landon's, and I'm so happy to read that it has stayed the same from when he wrote it earlier!
