Last Monday, Travis had a little mishap as he was warming up for his game. Two of his teammates were warming up together, when one of them (the hardest thrower on the team) threw kind of a wild throw, making it so that his partner couldn't catch it, just as Travis walked behind him to pick up a ball. As fate would have it, the ball hit him directly in the head, next to his eye. I pulled up to the game to see him on the ground and people gathered all around him and one of the moms telling me that Travis had been hit in the head. Talk about get your heart pumping fast! It immediately swelled up and looked super sore (we gave him ibuprophin right away)! One of his teammate's dad is a PA at the hospital and he looked him over and said that things looked ok (if we wanted to have it x-rayed, we could but there would be nothing they could do if it was fractured) and that he could maybe have a slight concussion. If he became confused or nauseous to bring him in to get checked out better. Needless to say, he sat out that game and the game the next day due to his eye being so swollen. He actually didn't have any pain besides the initial pain of getting hit, no headaches or signs of a concussion, but he sure looked terrible! The pictures don't really show how swollen and bruised he was. The hardest thing for him, was that he couldn't see anything below him because the swelling was so bad.

Day 2
Travis had All-stars tryouts scheduled for this day (Wednesday) and didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to try out. Luckily, the coach is our neighbor, and at the game this happened, so he was aware of what was going on. He was excited to find out the next day that he had made the team!
Day 3 and 4
The swelling caused the blood vessels in his eye to burst, which made it all red.
Day 5 and 6
One week later.
