Memorial Day

We spent our Memorial Day with friends out on the lake. We made plans with three other families to drive boats up to Black Canyon campground for a picnic and scenic drive. We know that it wasn't supposed to be super warm, but we decided to give it a try. Our 45 minute boat ride from Berry's Landing up to the canyon was great and we loved the campground! It was beautiful: green with lots of vegetation and super clear water! We got to the campground ate lunch and hiked around for a bit until it started to rain. We decided to head back before it got really bad. We got DUMPED on most of the 45 minute ride back to the dock! The water itself was actually really nice, we were just soaked from all the rain! We were sure happy to have sweatshirts and blankets to keep us warm! We are hoping to do it again once it warms up and the weather is nicer!
Waiting for our turn to unload our boat.

Enjoying the first ride of the season!

There are some really neat rock formations along the way!

Our crew: Felkins family, Hendershot family and Abraham family.

The kids were in heaven at the campground. I really wish it would have been warmer so we could have stayed longer to enjoy it all. They had a blast throwing rocks, exploring and catching toads.

The boys all hunkered down as the rain began!

Just a little bit of rain.
